I just recently purchased a new pc with a P4 2.4 ghz processer, 256 ram. The game is very choppy and freezes a lot. I have 1024 of ram on the way, will this help my situation?

More ram will help, but I play the game with 256megs and it plays great. My CPU is AMD 1800+.

What video card is in your system? If it's a Dell/Compaq/etc. the video card may be below par for 3d gaming.

first you have too little ram minium is FB 512mb my opnion.Is it that display card integreited, i think it is.So it is too slow for this game, sorry!

What is your soundcard it doesnt sound very fast also quality matters i dont no but audigy2 is so goooood when FB patch just come out now gamevoice dont hear(even audigy2)very good

What we learn about this: You must buy better display card example best price/power value is nvidia GF4 4200 128mb or Ati 9500 128mb price is little bit more.

And more memory best options is 1024mb

Soundcard is last options to move out if this dont help!

By now I think you realize you do not have a gaming computer. With that being said, you could do the following which should improve your current performance.

Install dx9a - DirectX Homepage

Install nVidia 44.03
http://www.nvidia.com/

Lower sound hardware acceleration to Standard.

XP uses roughly 80-100 MB of ram on start up. IL2 and FB use roughly 390-400 mb of ram. Your first upgrade should be RAM and the 1024mb should resolve any memory issues you now have.
