Thread: Ubi, Remember the Little Things. | Forums

    Do you guys remember being able to hear footsteps, little things that gave your opponent's position away? I remember that you could tell if someone was on a staircase or in a room just by listening to the diffent sounds. I also remember that you could shoot through wooden doors and kill your opponent. That's some of the things that are missing in LD and CH. Vegas designers need to implement realism for sure!

    There are a lot of different attributes that coexist in a game.

    Sound is very important. Without good sound the gameplay isn't near as good as it could be.

    Ofcourse a game can have off the hook graphics, and the gameplay could still be bad.

    But if a game has awesome gameplay where the gameplay was really intense and the graphics sucked then that game is not going to be as good as it should be.

    Do you guys know what I'm talking about? Those are the big things, but merely an example of how much the little things matter.

    Actually there is a guy whos job it is to do these little things and nothing else.

    So i believe it would be safe to say that there should be plenty of little attentions to details.

    please, please, please do the tactical sling properly this time

    When someone switches to secondary/gernades/other equipment, have the firearm fall across the chest like it's on a 3 point sling, not thrown over the shoulder like all the previous games. It just kills me every time I see that animation. Ghost Recon got it right, hoepfully the next R6 will as well.

    The problem with having the animations for the 3point sling is that usually its the kind of thing that makes the chopping block when you need to save stuff that is more useful to the actual game.

    Not saying we wont do it but in the past it wasnt lack of knowledge or want it was just that we can't have everything.

    Understandable, but you don't really need to animate the sling. Every game that I've seen do it properly (GR, SWAT series, OFP user made animations) Just make the 'resting' position for the gun object across the chest instead of along the back.

    For me it's just a very jarring visual thing that brings me out of the game. Not crucial, but very important to the verisimilitude of the experience.

    I know what you mean Dayglow but ideally we make universal systems and slinging Lmg's and Snipers is a pain.

    That said we are working on something, obviously can't give details yet

    wait... you mean sniper rifles are back? pls tell me you guys are putting sniper rifles in this game..(and not that crappy wa2000 ) or whatever it is... and now if you would just put some pistols back in the game.........
