Does the Xbox 360 gamepad work with this game? | Forums

Hi,
I searched the forums [and google] and I couldn't find whether or not the xbox 360 controller (USB and has drivers from microsoft) works well in splinter cell : CT. Anyone tried this out, and how is it?

edit, theres a config for:
XBox Controller HID Minidriver, XID
is that for the original or the 360? Since theres no official adaptor for the original xbox and this game came out way before xbox 360 controllers were announced to have pc compat, this is confusing.

it will work im sure about how well it will work gameplay wise thats limited. In SvM it will get you ripped apart. in SP and coop you might survive.

The game would actually have to be coded to accept joypad input, but that should definitely be the case, with directinput. Whether you'll get full-usage out of the analog sticks is something I have no idea about. However, it should be noted that I've never tried to use my gamepad in anything other than emulators and console ports. That, and my gamepad sucks.

And I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the whole mouse/keyboard v. controller bit could have easily been left out.

yea Ive only played the demo of CT (I just ordered the full), So mouse and keyboard is kinda new for me with this game. It seems that a lot more people prefer it over gamepads.

For good reason, too.

SP and Coop seem to work flawlessly with gamepads and joysticks, and the XB360 controller should be no exeption. In SvM, I'll require the use of programs such as Joy2Mouse or AutoHotKey.

Just a quickie, do a lot of people still play this online for the PC? Is it pretty easy to find a game?

DM or TAG matches are always findable, good story servers are getting rare. But i suggest that you dont go into serious dm-ing, because the community around dm is uberlame
