Thread: H5 crashes when cklicking a specific thing in game.. | Forums

  1. #1
Bought Heroes V today. Checked the requirements which my computer can handle with support of videocard (Geforce FX 5200).
Still, when I click one specific thing in the game I get thrown out to Windows desktop with an error message.

EXAMPLE; I was going into combat with a pack of griffins and the dialogue window pops up which tells you to join them or leave them. I chose to join the griffins and OOPS ->it crashes.. I have a saved game just before this, and everytime it's the same thing. I can go do other things but when it comes to those griffins it just crashes.

I've read other threads which guides you to run a dxdiag and post the results with a system file which you are supposed to find in the H5 folder. I can NOT find any system.ini/.cfg/.sys or whatever.

another thing.. (off this thread topic)
How do you set your own profile video&audio/game setting?
When I start the game, the default runs.. annoying.

nadde the default profile runs cause you didn't quit the game after putting those settings(it always crashed). So enter game put options and exit, then enter again.

yea that's exactly what i thought, so i did that, but unfortunately that doesn't work either..

Isn't there a config file you can set this manually out of the game or something?

btw, it can't make any difference if I didnt install the game in the default folder, right?

what I find there is an input.cfg ...
and as it appears it only consists of key command setting and not video/audio settings..

You did find your profile folder right?
If you did enter the game again, modify a setting (anything resolution, mouse hardware, etc).
If you didn't it means something is wrong...
    Btw about your error.
Please post ram&proccesor. Also make sure you have latest drivers from www.nvidia.com. A thing people are experiecing is the game overheating the video card and then then it crashes. Can you check out your video card termp. Also if all is ok and game still doesn't work try to reinstall it.

Processor: AMD Athlon 1.4 GHz (i noticed that it says 1.5 GHz Pentium min req. but the game runs ok.
    RAM: 512mb

I have the latest Nvidia drivers installed. About temp..I know that I've been able to check CPU temp (with some program I tested a few years ago), but not any of the cards as far as I know.

About that settings.. I read in another thread that I'm supposed to have a "user.cfg" along with the input.cfg.. In some way I don't have that user.cfg which seems to be the problem, that the game do not generate one for me.

Anyway, when can I expect the bug fix to be realesed?
