Hi everyone..
Sorry if this question already has been answered, but why does the campaign only spand from 1939 to 1943 and not 1939 - 1945 ?

The Devs say it's because 1943 the uboat-war changed and the uboat started to loose the battle of the atlantic. But I have a different theory........ . . .. . .

Rüm hart, klaar kimming!
Things got "interesting" after '43.
Ubisoft is re-inventing History???

They have to have a reason for an expansion pack eh?
Money of course. They must show profit, and a way to do that is to "cut it down" a bit and release the game half finished, and later release an addon that completes it. Of course they cannot tell us that's the plan, because people would interpret that as a way to steal another half. But I don't mind. I actually hope I'm right. A complete SH5 is worth a lot!![]()
Honestly, i think things are limited in campaign, and sub selection, because of time and budget constraints. They probably bit off more then they could chew for the deadline given and had to limit themselves.
For me, burnout is always one step away.
They have also stated that the campaign between 39 and 43 will be more detailed than previously.
as a subcommander you will be glad that they offer you a deskjob after (in case...) you have survived at the high seas for so long.
but no-one will stop you when you want to re-live those glorious moments while filing weather reports for Donitz(i.e. have a replay of the entire campaign).
don't forget that the campaign is dynamic!the only thing that reminds you what year it is are the dates on the calendar and your reports.
and about the single sub you can use;the kriegsmarine asigned you to it,you can't make your choice like you are in a candystore...
so stop the crap and enjoy what you get!
at least i will.
Thanks for those words of wisdom, I am sure that those that CANNOT play the game will be thrilled by your candid remarks.Originally posted by kapitan-holmann:

Now if you HAD bothered to play SH3 then you would realise that post 1943 the 'sim' became much harder as the Allies 'upped' their ASW abilities. It made the earlier years look more of a 'practice ground' for what was to come.
You want to have one boat, you want the war to end in 1943, fine go and buy the game and I wish you well with it but do not suggest that peoples concerns about these issues are comparable to what comes out of your backside.
