Thread: Finally got a response from Ubisoft about the invert issue and other issues! | Forums

  1. #1
    Hey guys,

Call the following number for Ubisoft Tech support: 919-460-9778 and complain about the invert issue. That is the US tech support number.

    Other countries are listed here:
    http://www.ubi.com/US/Support/...nationalSupport.aspx

The Ubisoft tech rep told me that he had a few people call about the issue, but the more people that call to complain the more important the issue becomes. He basically admitted it was a numbers game. If people leave their complaining to the internet and messageboards NOTHING will get done, but if you call the hell out of them and get everyone else to do the same, the chances increase dramatically.

For those who don't have an invert issue I am hoping you will have the goodwill to also voice your complaints. Please do this.

Also dont limit yourself to the invert issue, mention trophies not unlocking and such.

    LET THEM KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's funny because when i called on Monday oct. 3rd the rep told me to use the forums to voice the problem. I doubt anything gets done about it. Fill out a complaint with the FTC. Will any aftermarket controllers allow you to change the settings and invert the y-axis on the controller??

    @Merrick,

I do believe you but the fact is there are tons of angry posts around the web to which I doubt Ubisoft is blind. Knowing isn't the issue rather it is a matter of simple and base greed.

They are actually stupid enough to be unaware of the number of games arriving this fall and that it will be easy for many people to give Assassin's Creed and thus Ubisoft a well deserved middle finger and a no sale. Ubisoft have only themselves to blame.

    Merrick,

I have called and if you look in another thread here you will see the link for the Federal Trade Commission's Consumer Protection Agency. I actually have a call back with them Friday morning as they have asked more details concerning a French Company (Ubi) defrauding U.S. buyers with faulty software. The key here is that the new versions are supposed to be improved - according to Ubi - but instead necessary functionality was removed which makes this a fraud case as well as an issue of deceptive business practices.

Gotta love Americans. First reaction to anything, Lawsuit. I dislike this situation just as much as the rest of you, but lawsuits will make Ubi less inclined to react positively to the situation. Just sayin..

First of all fenavian, it isn't a lawsuit. If you are going to criticize a consumer's action to protect themselves, at least take the time to comprehend what it is you are criticizing. As it is, simply spouting off what comes across as an anti-American sneer fails to paint you in the light of the informed.

On that note, why bring the fact up that Americans are seeking official assistance? The game launched in the EU almost 2 months ago. What has doing nothing accomplished in the EU? Eh? What's that? Try using your man voice as I can't hear you. Right, it has accomplished nothing.

I am sure Ubisoft feels their money grab is now dropping off the protest radar.

Has anyone from Ubisoft in the past two months made an official statement that they are looking to patch the Inverted Y? Anyone? Bueller? No. There was an initial response on the EU PS forums but all they focused on after the first post was trophy synchronization.

In fact, if you look at what they did they were determined to grab more money without any intention to fix the game. They sold the titles individually in the EU. Buy the first one, realize there is no Inverted Y and you will not buy the other two.

So in the US, they only sold them as a bundle in the digital package. Buy them all and get shafted on all 3 games in one shot. They were careful to maximize their profits while screwing customers. No possibility of only getting screwed on one game here.

Do you really believe that companies such as Ubisoft are compelled to do something moral when their fanbase says "This needs to be fixed" and then they drop the matter and go buy another Ubisoft game. You apparently understand very little about commercial motivations.

As I said, the very fact that Ubisoft has not bothered to state on these forums or in an interview with IGN or some such major gaming news outlet that they are seeking to patch the game is in and of itself a very clear indication of what they intend to do. Or in this case do not intend to do.

Here is a little life lesson. No action is an action.

    Justin,

The call back was for more information to an investigator and for him to interview me to get exact details of the situation.

    Update:

A Ubisoft rep called me and they told me that they DO plan to patch the game, but they let me know that its a complicated process and it will require Sony to give the OK as well and that could take a little while. Lets hope Sony takes care with this issue also.

The fact that Ubisoft personally called me and told me that they DO plan to fix the issue is an encouraging one and I hope it does happen.

But please keep on calling and letting them know. There is now a fire lit under Ubisoft's *** and its up to gamers to keep it burning!

    Thanks.
