And, in your opinion, what is horror? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
    Something scary. Simple.

Silent Hill 2, is unfortunately my best case for it. But how... just, glorious it was will make it stand out in my mind.

Hell, a few of the places in Fallout 3, with how dead silent they were had me more scared, especially when a damn Feral Ghoul screamed out of nowhere and popped me in the back of the head. Then it immediately wasn't scary anymore, but still.

Dead Space... isn't scary. The first one had a good atmosphere that genuinely had me creeped out until thirty minutes in I realized all of the Necromorphs came from vents in the wall... Of course I realized this has one tried to jump scare me, but fortunately me and my pulse rifle put it down before it touched the floor.

The demo for the second was just dark, by the way.

But for a more what I consider to be scary? Strong, almost over bearing atmosphere. Opponents that feel like monsters, sound like them, act like them. That make you want to run.

@ Jazz : nice list man, i hate chainsaw guy, they kill be pretty easy, especially in Resident Evil 5, there is that mission were you face 2 , and the knife sequence in Resident Evil 4 is so great i agree

@ ChaosIsaac : isn't Isaac the name of the main character in DS , i read a blog (Yarab's blog i think) in which he talked about how to play horror games, Silent Hill is kidna the defenseless horror, i don't like that, i actually believe that is the intense kind, in DS2 Demo i got scared a couple of time, but on my 2nd walkthrough, it was all gone, Horror games only last for one walkthrough, that is a fact for me

@ sam2000_290 : i love burnout series, especially smashing all the cars

I sent a msg for the moderator to return my topic back, let's hope the listen to my reasons and agree , it will be a waste here in the off-topic, it is so strange that only SC got an off-topic forum

I sent a msg for the moderator to return my topic back, let's hope the listen to my reasons and agree Frown , it will be a waste here in the off-topic, it is so strange that only SC got an off-topic forum

It does belong here. It's not on-topic.

Well, I guess SC is popular so they have an off-topic section. This section is not popular but people still visit here.

While we're at it, I want to start a debate. What is entertainment/video games to you?

I see video games/entertainment as a form of art. An interactive form of art/entertainment. Although, I play games for games mainly, but I see as an art, interactive art. I focus a lot on the story.
The more I play SCC, the more I think SCC and SCB are more optimized for panther and assault. Playing ghost is not really a fun factor unlike the old SC games. For that matter, I think SCB should at least be played panther or assault (not over use). We all hope SCB is more classic since it is still in production but you can't change the fact that the series is taking this way. Therefore, you play it the way it's meant to be played. Though, I am not ruling out ghosting in SCB, it's possible and can be fun but the game is more optimized for panther/assault.
    Therefore:
SC1-4: Ghost player SCC and SCB: Panther/(Occasional)Assault
    Overall: GHOST PLAYER

Played the free multiplayer version, not bad, not scary since it's all human players but I suck big time. It's hard to play this. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>Forget multiplayer here.
F.E.A.R. (the 1st game) play the singleplayer at night, with the lights off and headphones on. It's the only way to truly know you're alive. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Would you be scared if I said yes?

Actually, there is this dude that... no it's better if you find out for yourself.

I actually have more trouble with the chainsaw dude in Resi4. The guy in Resi5 sorta just stands around for a while, but in 4 he goes straight for you head soon as he can reach you.

Because I was a fan of Monoliths NOLF and Contract Jack games, I had signed up at some point to receive free stuff. One of those was the FEAR beta. That was how I played the beta when I set it up. There was maybe one or two easter eggs in that game that refer to the previous titles I mentioned.

The games I still play on the N64 are Goldeneye and Perfect Dark.
They are basically the same game. Perfect Dark that is available on xbox as an arcade game is just made of fail. The age of the game does not work well with the newness of the xbox. It does not look like it should. I still play it on N64 because it is fun. The pace is well. The guns are great ( except for that p.o.c. Reaper gun...really it is more like a cheese grater that spins. And it's main function, couldn't hit the broad side of a barn even if you we standing in front of the barn. I hated that thing. How are you supposed to take down an alien with that? cheese grate it to death? ....

If I am not playing SC or any games on xbox, then I am playing Rabbids games on the Wii. I think I enjoy those games for the sheer amount of stupid they contain. Like riding a yak down a mountain slope. Shooting Bunny Fishers with a toilet plunger and making them bawl. Cartoon violence that kind of thing.

Those are basically the games that are rarely put back in the drawer.

    Wow, a true/hardcore/oldie gamer girl.

For horror I agree with Silent Hill 2, although I'm still looking forward to the chance to play Amnesia: The Dark Descent.
Also a fan of the resident evil series, Mercenaries mode being my favorite, all the way back to Hunk and Tofu.

Then there's my all time favorite oldie The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for the super nintendo, which I think is much better than Ocarina of time in many respects.

Conker's Bad Fur Day will always have a place in my heart

I really like the Tomb Raider Series and enjoyed the remake of the first one a lot.

Mika Mobile's games for the ipod are awesome!

Dragon Age was my first Fantasy fix since Morrowind, and I didn't play Oblivion because of how much Morrowind ruined my social life. Dragon age is much more manageable...

I played Red Dead Redemption and Batman Arkham Asylum over break and thoroughly enjoyed both of them.

Another game I enjoyed was the Mark of Kri, which was bashed for its Stealth Gameplay, but I honestly think it was brilliant. People think it's funny for a big bulky barbarian to need to sneak around. Aren't elephants known to sneak up on people because the surface area their feet cover prevents them from making much noice when walking? Being big doesn't cancel out the stealth option.

As far as games I look forward to, mainly the new Deus Ex. The new Tomb Raider, Batman Arkham City, and Thief 4 are also up there on my list.
