Thread: Multiplayer Sniping | Forums

It looks like sniping is gonna be one of the funnest things in this game for me, and I was wondering if there is gonna be bullet drop.

I don't know if I would want it or not, if it was there but still let you kill enemy's far away with ease then it would be cool. Binoculars that showed you the range of your target would make it fairly easy.

scopes which feature measurements for bullet drop calculation and that the weather has effect on it as well would be good.

I want to invest some effort into it. no arcady 600meter headshots. when I hear the words "with ease" I begin to shudder. those words should only be mentioned in conjuction with disney games, not with an open-ended, realistic, tactical pc shooter. I sincerely hope they go with a steeper and harder learning curve. not this dreaded kiddie "say yes to the player" paradigm which seems to kill off every replayability and sense of accomplishment in games nowadays.

nothing against the OP, but that is not the game I am hoping for.

As long as it hits when I know it should. I don't want there to be any luck or chance involved in the shot. Games aren't fun once you get to a certain point of realism, and I think it should end at bullet drop.

It is very easy to kill in FC1 with a sniper rifle. What can be done is to restrict access to the weapon until later in the single player game or make ammo hard to find.

In multiplayer, the sniper is balanced by the low health and armor as well as scope glare, but is still an integral part of a good multiplayer assault team.

I am sure the dev team will create a balanced MP experience. If not, that's what mods are for.

I don't remember that. Sounds like WoW! Why would you have low health and armor after picking up a gun?

Coops is talking about the Sniper class in the Assault game type.

Each class was balanced to have positives and negatives. While the sniper got he most leathal gun and the tagging binos, they had less armour and health.

In general, if the sniper could take down the enemy at range, he could last a long time, if they got up close, he would be very disadvantaged.

I really hope they bring back the old Sniper Rifle from FCE.. It was really bad for sniping with but made a really good close range weapon.

Then they can add longrange-scoped sub machineguns with 1000x zoom to take down enemies a few km away

I dunno about multiplayer mode as i only tried it more then once or twice in FC.
But my take on sniping is, have a realistic drop, and have a distance thingumy show up when you go into scoped mode.
and in single player atleast, dont restrikt the ammo capacity too much, since that would force players to play a specific style instead of choosing theire own.
my own preference in fps is a good sniperrifles, theres somthing "ultimate chickin" about it, but in a cool way ^^

and with the prospect of wildlife you can hunt down, it would be even more fun =P
