I find it really difficult to get how the notes in the early stages relate to the music. Is there a way to show the whole song while just playing the music to see where you are trying to get to? It would be really helpful, like,"If you get everything right this is what it will look like, this is what you'll be doing".

no there isn't but i think a 100% preview option would be cool. just have the whole song play through with all the notes so you can see what to expect, maybe see scales shapes in the solos, etc

You can always look on YouTube.

I will tell you this, looking at the full song with every note really won't help you much. Just look at the FreeBird YouTube video. It's KAOS!!

Just keep playing, the more songs I get through, the more events I play, the more it all kind of makes sense as you progress and learn.
