Hello to you,
1) I know that Relto is like an "age station" that transfers explorer to a different age.According to the hints, I have to click on tapestries on the four statues outside. I've clicked on each of them already, been in Mashroom age and all the rest of three. However, it seems I haven't completed any of the ages yet, except the desert.
When I've tried another time clicking on the tapestries it didn't change anything. Strange, huh?
I had to use the linking books on the bookshelf in the house. Is it normal that I won't be able to link to the ages via clicking on the tapestries?
2) From what I understand and know that everytime I start the game after I am finished with the desert, I start at Relto then choose the age I want to explore. If I link to the age I've been there before any progress is going to be saved there at the previous time? That Auto-Save option gets me wonder whether I'll have to complete one age at once.
3) How will I know I am done with the age?
In Myst 3, for example, I get a symbol for each age I complete. In Myst IV revelation I could leave the age and switch to another.

hello adikm1982.
The four tapestries on relto are not tapestries, but are poles and called bahro poles. Each contains the linking book to an age. Whenever you have clicked on a pole it opend to reveal the book, you then linked through the book and not through the tapestries.
As in the desert, in each age you have to find and click the tapestries, or journey clothes as the are named in English.
You can leave an age before finishing it, to try another ages. For each age the game has a seperate save. When you return to an age you either start at the beginpoint or at the place of the last journey clothe you touched in that age, depending on which page you used from the linking book.
You will know you have finished an age when you have left the age via another route then linking to relto. look for other places with the handsymbol.
Goodluck!
