The character you pick when you start story mode. Does it have any impact on the story at all?
Other than how your arms look like, or is even this the same? I picked the Irish guy (Frank?) and ingame my char appears to be wearing a hideous green tracksuit (very stylish) and has tattoos on his knuckles. Too bad the main character doesn't have any spoken lines, I would love to hear that guys accent.
afaik it only affects the buddies you run into (obviously you don;t run into yourself)
Other than that and the arm appearance there's zilch for differences, which is a real shame. It would have been nice to give each merc a bit of custom specialties, like sniping, demolitions/heavy weaponry, stealth etc..
Instead all we get is a rather bland a,b,c etc.. choice that not even really much eye candy....
I picked the algerian hakim. Which means i occasionally get to see the permenant yet inaccesible bandolier on my chest (for example when i'm yanking bullets out of my self). Bullets are for shooting, not for fasion!
I wonder if it effects the special weapons you get at the **** fights at the start. I started with a flamethrower but someone else i know started as the yugoslav guy and got an RPG
Who you start with depends on what side of the village you escape to in the beginning. There are 4 different starting paths, 2 for APR and 2 for UFLL.
i didn't escape but it think i fell over to the right side of the village...bloated with bullets and maleria
Cool, I didn't know that. In the beginning I too just keeled over from a malaria attack just when I stepped outside the house and picked up one of the rifles laying around. I wound up in Fresh Fish with UFLL and an RPG.Originally posted by sausagebones:
