the very first assassination for example, i walked up to him all stealthily, but before i could get close enough to assassinate he yelled "assassin!"

i understand the slave trader assassination spotted you before you could kill him, but that was part of the storyline, he was supposed to
yet the other dudes seem to know im coming aswell no matter how stealthy i am
They pretty much all know yeah, in one of them you actually have to assassinate about six people, you can do them without them seeing you.
I did all my assassinations stealthy without getting caught first, except the one who runs onto the roof. Wasn't hard for me at all, try using the info and maps you get from the investigations and pickpocketing, they really do help.
Also, hide in the crowd. My first proper stealth assassination was against the Teutonic Doctor. I hid in a group of scholars and as we passed him I jumped out, stabbed him and ran away.
Orpheus...how did you do the assassination on "the fat guy" without him noticing you?? He was in block 4 I think.

I assassinated the one at the docks without being seen. Well, the guards saw me AFTERWARDS, but initially I crept up behind him and assassinated him without him knowing.Originally posted by stuburns:

Apart from the merchant king (who runs away) I have assassinated all targets without them spotting me first, but as I mention the guards always see me afterwards.

As I mentioned above, I chased the fat guy. Everyone else I've assassinated without being seen first.
