Thread: PC MULTIPLAYER QUESTION TO UBISOFT! DRAWING ATTENTION | Forums

  1. #1
This question regards to both Retail DVD version and Digital Download version.
Over the weeks this great game has been released, thousands of people have been anxiously waiting for the multiplayer networking to become functional.

A single video was revealed, by the executive producer, of a fully functional multiplayer of Avatar the game "over a network".

When the game was released a functional multiplayer was given, but it is not over the internet nor is their LAN supported on this multiplayer setup. Due to this, many people have been saying this game's multiplayer is disabled and to those who love this game are saying "a complete waste of money" for the consumer.

My question is, how can I, as well as others, get PC multiplayer to work over the internet /lan? Are their ports that need to be forwarded? Is the multiplayer setup of this game even working over a global network?

Many people have been dying to get a feel on this "internet" multiplayer action, and I have noticed on the box of this game it specifically states "Play it on ubi.com" which is misleading as to whether this is Ubi soft's slogan, or is it telling the buyer that the game has online multiplayer supported by "ubi.com"? There are no signs of any multiplayer written on the box and the only action that fulfills the line "PC DVD ONLINE" is an online activation for the game itself.

Why would a single player campaign game contain an online activation and registration with ubi.com----is there multiplayer included?
As of now, Avatar The Game for PC is a single player campaign game. "They" have, at least, tried hard not to make this game false advertising, but failed to specify if the functional multiplayer contained access to a global network.

Yea... i dont feel a multiplayer vibe going on right now with this game. No way to Search for games that are active or even creating one including a private game. Im not sure if anyone else is having this multiplayer issue..then again I/we never get a real definant answer to the multiplayers existance.

I feel as if i just got ripped off buying the game. Multiplayer was actually the reason to my purchase not single player. Due to the lack of any kind multiplayer functionality i am starting to find myself bored of the game entirely. I honestly dont believe this forum is going to help either. I search around and all i find is complaints about Nav'i being over powered... Where are the real complaints?

Heck, what else can i say? They have our money and money is what causes all kinds of greed.

    Thumbs down ubisoft.
You guys make great games but this one...
    uh yea...no

i just bought this game for PC and there was no one in multiplayer... just me ....

i shouldve read the forums first before buying this game just after i watched the movie.

i dont like single player games anymore, multiplayer is where the action is.

so if there isnt going to be any multiplayer for PC then... what a bloody waste of money.

i sweat hard for my money, now it looks grim.

i played single player for about 30 mins and got bored. went into MP and it was empty...

    so..... whats going on?

    desert,

You can access multiplayer games through the ubi.com service, as indicated in the game's manual. However, this game is not very popular online and there are rarely ever servers available. However, multiplayer functionality is available and working in the game.

Alright guys, im going to ask them by what they mean "rarely servers are running." Heck most of my friends who have the game can't even create a private match.

Some how i can host a public game...i just tried 2 days ago, but no one can join it.

So if i can get a lot of people to reply to this comment and leave out their in-game names, maybe we could arrange something. In the mean time, im going to challenge this answer from Ubi-soft tech support.

Here is my question to ubi.com technical support updating the reference number '091219-000152'
    ______
Since the day i bought this game (two weeks ago), I immediately tried out the multiplayer function and came across "Cannot create a match at this time. Please try again later" as result of either making a private game or even selecting quickmatch.

Unfortunately, i am not the only one who is having this issue. It's all over the forums.

Just a day ago from this post, I was able to make public/private games out of the blue and called all my friends to try and join my created games... none were successful and they ran into the game solution of "Cannot create a match at this time. Please try again later".

Today, after attempting to create a private match (which is the only way to make a public game after selecting the option), i get the result of "Cannot create a match at this time. Please try again later."

What is going on here? I have no firewall, are their ports that need to be forwarded to have ubi.com services connect with my PC more efficiently?

Jason stated, "this game is not very popular online and there are rarely ever servers available." I would like to mention that the release of the movie is making this game more popular each day, but what is stopping people of buying the game is the over 6,000 views of complaints of how multiplayer is not working; however "not working" is not the issue.

It is the fact that No games are creatable over a network nor join-able, and the statement of "rarely ever servers available" actually appears to be "no servers running at all".

Despite all this, my initial question is, why is the game not allowing me as well as others to create a private/public match? Why does it seem ubi.com service is not supporting this game's multiplayer function at all?

The game always logs into my ubi account when entering the multiplayer lobby, but nothing else appears to work. My brother, sister and I, including 4 of my friends, are all online trying to get multiplayer to work, but nothing can be done when all we can do is see that our names appear on each others friends list as "online".

To add, when i see them online, it says they are in a Capture the Flag 12/16. The game says that every single one of us is in a 12/16 ctf, but we are not---we are sitting on our chairs just looking at the globe of pandora (not to get mad but wtf?).

Not to exaggerate, but based on the forums alone, i am estimating at least 6,000 viewers are having this same issue.

I'm having the same problems, and to prove this issue, all you hav eto do is look at the posts that talk about how fun or functional the multiplaywer is. I don't see any. This needs to be fixed/patched asap. I feel that I have wasted my money.

Now, now, no need for flaming.
It's a great game and I even played two MP-games this evening. If it's not working properly, we just have to wait a little longer for it to function like it should.
If you're waiting, you can just go watch the movie again :3

    Ive waited long enough actually.

The only patch that came out is one that fixed Single Player bugs only.

I have come to the conclusion that Multiplayer is left to die!

I cant say anything more than WTF ubi-gay?
