heh and i expected the response to be an immediate flame

War Games these days aren't tactical they're BF2...

R6 grandfathered the lot of it (or at least made it famous)
CS pushed it to the arcade level.
    BF2 made it large scale.

and thats where we're getting our new stuff based from.

IMHO GR2 was more tactical than some of the stuff in GRAW due to the arcadeing up of the damage system(especially compared to GRAW 2's mid game medic... i don't so much mind the revive bit in MP since it works for snipers, but a healing medic in SP... woulda been better off as a Republic commando style, down and revived by your team)

my fave is still OGR, where a shot to the leg made a differance as did an arm shot.
the new stuff just doesn't let you at least debilitate your enemy like that if you "winged" them (I.E. not chest/head shot in this case, not literaly winged them as in RL term use.. assuming i got the term right)

i mean, it actually made a person be careful, cause that leg injury would slow them down, or an arm shot would weaken their aim considerably.

GRAW and such just bases it off of your stamina level that i've seen. (which doesn't exist in MP if not mistaken...)

It might be a little arcadey compared to OGR, but it's still a lot of fun. The graphics are amazing IMO which makes up for some of the problems with gameplay (the run speed and the floaty aiming). I'm getting used to it. At least the hit detection is better than RS Vegas. Although I like Vegas a lot, too.

Totally agree; it's a god game still. The campaign though in my opinion was too easy compared to G.R.A.W. 1's campaign. I guess ubisoft worked more on the Xbox live features of G.R.A.W. 2 than the game as the maps and such are awesome on live - campaign being Ok!

i dun see how it'd matter there, the SP and the MP were done by two differant teams.
so the botch ups in one can't exactly reflect those of the other in these 2 games.

meh i never said it exactly sucked, i'm just saying its getting to arcadey, and the additions that GRAW 2 got over GRAW 1 just furthered that some more.
the ONLY thing i'd ask for (besides FPV filters for MP servers) is the point damage system return and you actualy get injured where you were shot.
the anything but head shots are equal bit is just old and lame. + it never had a place here originaly until they began to dumb things down.

its just not right to plaster a guy with several bullets right to his arms/legs and then watch him still run around in circles attempting to run'n'gun.
the having to concern yourself with such things and even being shot so much as once, is what really held the original GR in place.
people weren't as apt to run around like their still playing Halo or Counter Strike, since that'd be the fast death of them as 1 bullet could make'em forced to slow down to a crawl as their knee falls off

seriously, this one little feature would put the GR back into the games IMHO, and slow things down properly and push people to open their eyes and minds a little and play the game properly. with your team, moving in and out of proper cover, and trying to get the shot into your enemy before he gets it into you, rather than the current game of "whoever can strafe-gun better"

tis why i take a mostly sniper position in these ones... only way to sure fire avoid the rambo rampageing bum rushers from he** and make'em hurt.

^^^The injury thing is a good idea. Sometimes I do hate when people just run & gun. It's supposed to be a tactical game. I like these slow paced style of games more than Halo and stuff like that.

Grimlock I am so with you. I am an original ghost recon player and have had everyone since. I much prefer the past ghost recons then graw and graw2. I think the maps were done better, more layed out, much more thought into them. As well as much more real life where there is a better part and a worse part to spawn at. Not symetrical maps that graw and graw2 are known for. I would so love to go back to the first person view (forced) and back to the original ghost recon maps where it was much larger and if players did run and gun, you'd just pick them off JUST LIKE IN REAL LIFE. Plus add the newer graphics and life would be good.
