Why do the people who are so unhappy seem so belligerent?

Are you kids just sitting home in military fatigues, in front of your "rig" waiting for the game to come out? There's no problem with disliking it, but holy ****, calm down I can absolutely GAURANTEE that you will do nothing to affect the sales of this game.

There has been nothing since Operation Flashpoint as good as GRAW, so chalk this one up to a loss in the battle for seeing the glass half empty….

As I’m always here to lend a hand, allow me to teach you how to complain:

2. No, that's why I said demo/game. Which is really immaterial because if the demo is a fair insight into the game, I’ll be first in line on Wednesday morning.

I would have said years a go that all the belligerent game-hate posts were made by "kids" but with the average gamer pegged now at about 30 years old, I'm concerned that these are actually being made by simple-minded adults and I'm just frustrated by all of the sensational claims we are exposed to every day from here to the daily news. The concern is that someone may actually be turned off of the game by some guy who can't spell ranting incessantly...

That's almost comical. I know of quite a few people who actually read about gaming products on forums, gaming websites, etc. before they make a purchase.

Lack of MP support.
Lack of settings options.
Lackluster graphics.
Lack of FSAA.

There are quite a few games I have dicided not to purchase based on the observations of others. If their views and opinions concerning various aspects of a game align with mine, then I have no reason to make a purchase.

Person A visits forum B. Person A reads about the various issues and downsides pertaining to game. Person does not buy game.

Glad to point out the obvious.

There are absolutely people who go to forums to gauge how good the game is before making their decisions.

The problem is, and I'll say it again:

These forums are like a Democrat-funded poll, run in San Francisco and focused on President Bush.


Skewed.

I mean my god, go to the Oblivion forums for a minute. You'd not get the idea that about 2 million people bought this game, because all of us having fun with it are actually playing and not spending our days in the forums..

200 people's negative opinions on a forum does not give a clear picture of the actual consumer landscape. If less than 50% of all PC games are ever actually taken online (PC Gamer article) then most of what people are complaining about matters very little.

We could say the same thing for you who could be a beligerant fan who will buy into any crappy game thats released

The simple minded ones are the people who will take what ever is thrown at them... The standard for games these days has rasied considerably and UBI really needs to step there game up.

I mean, I see all different kinds of opinions put forth in all different kinds of ways. I see no evidence of "skewing"...

Perhaps your are meaning it in a context different than I am understanding..
