Thread: I got a problem here... | Forums

  1. #1
The problem is the update error that has been discussed b4. That is:

    http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/4221052685/m/1...381060736#3381060736

I've update up to the 1.1.0 ver. However, I am not able to update the very last one, 1.2.0 ver. I did everything that is mentioned up there to make it work. However it still says that the pdf file is not on the right spot despite of the file being there.

Does anyone know what I shoud do when it comes like that?

and what are the disadvantages as to not install 1.2.0 version?

Forgive me for asking some routine questions...

You got the message when trying to update to 1.02... Did the rest of update succeed? That is, what version number is reported in Help About?

Also, what Operating System / Language are you using?

While the 1.01 Update mostly had additions to the chess variants, the 1.02 Update solved many other things, including tutorial, interface, and online play issues. Because of version differences, you won't be able to play online until you have version 1.02 successfully installed.

Yes I downloaded both 1.1.0 and 1.2.0 updates from here and updated first one successfully but second one, 1.2.0ver, haven't been updated.
In help about, the current version is v 1.1.0 now

My Os is Windows Xp Home Edition Sp2/ Korean

In regard to this, I have tried once in English version, by changing the language in control panel. However this time, it wouldn't even let me open this update. when I double click the file and click "run" button, the program wouldn't come up.

Please help me updating this thing

I would try one more thing... move (not copy) the PDF file to another folder, and then try the update again.

If that still doesn't work, then I believe your only option is to to contact Ubisoft Technical Support.

Do you still have the error message that you received? I'll try logging a ticket with Ubisoft about this... also, are you using a downloaded version, or a DVD?

I just tried what you suggested me to do and yet it still cause the same problem.

I tried to re-install the whole program in English ver, but this time an error occured and it says " 1152: Error Extracting blah blah "

Are you trying to install from a download, or a DVD?

If you're using a download, what program are you using for extraction? If you're not using WinZip, that could be the problem...

I also saw a caveat stating that the downloaded game is for NORTH AMERICA ONLY... I'm not sure what that means exactly, but I'm asking around to find out...

Ohh I am using a downloaded ver of it

In regard to the program, it is the " setup.exe " file which cause that dialog box.

and I figured the setup file only works when my OS language is on Korean, nothing else.

Therefore, I am not able to re-install in dif. language

Unfortunately, I'm afraid that I'm all out of ideas at the moment.

If you haven't already, please contact Ubisoft Technical Support. In the meantime, I'll keep asking around.

Also, if Technical Support is able to solve your problem, please post the solution to the forum.

Sorry... I know this is extremely frustrating.
