Trying to convert some campaign scens from IL-2 to FB...and encountering problems with FB not behaving like IL-2.
Main problem: Scens with a main aim to RECON some place (without landing) do not work anymore.
In IL-2 all you needed was to fly into the cycle of a recon spot and you succeded in completing this mission part.
Not so in FB. Even excessive flying forth and by, over minutes (!) doesn't do a f... thing to fullfill the recon task.
Can someone help me out...?
Is the RECON crapped in FB...?????

I have`nt had any trouble yet with it
-
My problem is simple:
If I define such a mission goal and fly through it...nothing happens.
Not even if I keep cycling above the centre of the spot.
No idea what to do to change this.
As it is now, I need to remove all recon from my primary targets...

Are you sure the Recon targets are set to the correct side? IE, are you flying a Red plane trying to Recon an objective set for the Blue team?

Ok, I'll check that !
Sounds like a reasonable idea for the problem.
Thanks !!

Ok, checked this with no result. If the player is set to one side I can't even switch it to the colour of the other.
Still: No recon mission (except landings) work with my FB...

DGen has been updated so many times, it's possible that different script parameters are used for recon now, and older ones are not recognised properly?
For instance this is an AEP Recon target from a .mis file (I think it is anyway):
3 0 1 30 501 85272 155706 900
I think
3=Recon Target
0=Don't Know (maybe the Team code?)
1=Must land
30=Seconds in Recon Area
501=Probably radius
85272/155706= Probably co-ordinates
900=Don't Know (max height?)
Maybe a step forward might be to load an il2 mission into AEP FMB and then save it under a different name. Then open the original .mis file and the AEP .mis file in wordpad and compare the Recon entries. If they are different, then DGen has probably changed the way it deals with Recon.
You might have to experiment by changing the recon target in AEP FMB (Eg. change from 'no land' to 'land') and see how that compares to il2-saved mission.
I would do this comparison myself, but I can't find an old il2 mission with recon in it on my hard drive. You could copy/paste the .mis file here I suppose!

I cant get recon to work either. Anyone know how to set time out.
-
Ok, I've managed to get it working in a new mission, time out appears to work in minutes and seconds. I found you had to fly the plane manually (autopilot off) in the recon area for a few seconds to activate objective complete.
Hope that helps
