I just want to confirm this. All the sounds will be authentic right? I know the Thompson is but what about the other guns?

According to what I've seen/read/heard, Gearbox's development team went out and recorded sounds from some of the WW2 weapons, so they should be authentic and real as they can get.

The deal with sound authenticity is vague.
Weapopns sound different depending on where you are when it is fired. Sounds recorded to the front and sides sound much different then if you are behind it (IE it sounds different when someone is shooting it at you then when you are shooting it at someone else.)
I for one can vouch historically for the Enfield and M1 and M1 Carbine and Colt 1911A1. All of them sound different from different angles, Infact, the garand's legendary PING sound can barley be heard by the man firing it.
Every other weapon i have been around and fired has been the same way (Shotguns, rifles, hand guns, etc etc)
Also, when weapons are fired, the noise is so much louder than it is portrayed in games. When the crack of the rifle goes off in your hands, its all you hear, and it rings for quite a while if you don't have ear protection. Handguns are a little less noisy, but really the same way.
I'm in the ROTC program and a M249 SAW deafens you, you cannot hear a thing while it is going off near you and especially not when you are firing it, so I'm sure MGs from WWII are the same way.
I hope everything is accurate with the sounds, but it would be cool if they had two different sound files, one for when your character is shooting, and one for when someone else is shooting.

Every word is correct.
But the sound in the game in less loud because Baker got ear protection.
Good for you Moose, the ROTC is great! Do you mind if I ask which battalion you are in from which state?

They fired almost every, if not all, guns from the WWII era, the ones that pertain to the game anyway. I'm hesitant to say all guns because even though I remember it being said, I can't say for certain its not a bad memory![]()
i really hope that you can turn the volume of gunfire and explosions up with respect to the rest of the game. ha, i think it'd be cool to not hear your own voice, let alone the voices of the guys talking to you, while you're firing.
this shouldnt play a role in commanding, cause you give hand signals too... but i'd love to crank my speakers up and shake my room with every shot!
I am a member of the Buckeye Battalion (dunno what numbers are, then never tell us) at The Ohio State University.
I'm going to be Infantry or Armored Scout MOS when I join.
