Thread: Reinstalling old campaign | Forums

  1. #1
Hi, I have a problem that I hope you guys can help me with. I bought SH3 when it first came out and had a great time playing it, and spent alot of time to get far into 1943?. My problem is that I had to format my computer, but I backuped my old campaign files. How can I reinstall the campaign? I've tried to just copy them in the right place, but that dosent work. And is it a big problem that I've installed a new patch since I played this campaign?

    Thanks for all your help!

If you made a new install, created a new career without starting it, then put the old career into this newly created directory on your hd, it should work!
Don't worry too much about an old career, you can always make another one just as good!

The only problem would be if the new patch changed any of the campaign files(LND,SCR) then your old campaigns won't work. You also would have to have the same mods installed, with no new ones that change the above files, or the sim will CTD.

But it dosent show up on the career screen.
    What am I doing wrong?

Your personel career campaign files are saved in a folder named SH3 in your My Documents folder, not in the sim files. The path there is SH3\data\cfg\Careers.
