Thread: Farcry 2 PCis beautiful & perfect EXCEPT for the Guard respawns. PLZ fix JUST this!! | Forums

Such a beautiful game. Playing on infamous and every turn i take is tense and gorgeous. BUT THE DAMN realism DIES to hell when these guardposts respawn all the time.

With such a beautiful world I wish I could travel it a bit better without having to rekill all guards at the guard posts.

WILL UBISOFT EVER EVER EVER fix this embarrasing and rediculous issue???

    PLZZZZZZ!!!!!!

They could do that but they would have to replace all those empty areas with other threats or the game would turn into a snooze fest I think.

I think if the respawn time was like...20 minutes it would work.

Respawn times should be like half a day or an entire day. 20 minutes is too short. It's not realistic.

    Food for thought:

Is it realistic that your health is restored by simply sticking yourself with a needle?

Is it realistic that you can take multiple shots and not die, and that your buddy comes out of nowhere almost every time to save you?

Is it realistic that you have an endless supply of guns that respawn again and again at the armory?

Is it realistic that by simply grabbing a random stack of ammo your ammo stash, regardless of weapon model, is immediately replenished?

Is it realistic that you can magically fix vehicles that are beat to heck with only a ratchet?

Is it realistic that diamonds are randomly left throughout the land in glowing, chiming briefcases, and you have a tracker that magically finds both them and audio cassette players?

Is it realistic that shooting the driver of the boats doesn't make him stand up and fire back?

Is it realistic that stuff you blow up 10-15 minutes ago is no longer burnt or destroyed?

I agree that the respawn times aren't "realistic", but there's so much else in the game that's not realistic either, but this seems to be the standard gripe.

I've said this before, but I just think to myself that after I just annihilated everyone at an outpost, there was a distress call and more mercs were summoned to the area to take over... and it took them 5-10 minutes to get there

The only feature left out that I'd love to have in FC2 is the ability to plant a remote-triggered explosive on a vehicle, and ghost ride said vehicle into a group of Mercs and BAM!

And I agree with your post that FC2 is beautiful and (near) perfect! Glad you like it!

Yes I don't like the respawing wither, you should be able to clear out an area. Maybe they could let the game evolve by bring in a new guard or enemy every now & then that is randomly placed in the game.

I seriously doubt if anything will get done about respawns. I, and others have posted over and over, that you can avoid constant fights at the same guard posts, by using stealth at night, and sneaking around the posts on foot, or use a swamp boat and follow the rivers to your destination. Busses also help.

If all you do is drive a Jeep from one place to another, then yes, it gets really boring, just shooting the same guards over and over.

Be creative with your mission planning, and the respawn issue is almost nothing.

Im hoping that the devs will address this in an expansion pack. A 20 minute respawn would work well.

Or .. there could be an enemy patrol/convoy that drives through each check point from time to time. When they get to an unmanned check point they stop for a minute and radio for more guards. This could be a lot of fun.

But like I said its not likely to be changed until an expansion of some kind. Hope it is changed though.

If you drop the difficulty level down, I don't think they respawn as fast.

    For example,

This one check point I cleared out before freeing the hostage at the slaughter house remained dead after I passed through it on the return trip. This was on "easy". (IIRC)

I would think that having different repawn times according to LOD would be impossible, but i could be wrong.
