I for one love the shot-gun. I mean how many spy games allow you to use a shot-gun as a weapon? answer me that and i'll show you a green dog.
heres some sweet shot-gun footage that might help you with your choice.

You forgot a "Wouldn't know" option. I don't have the demo, so "Wouldn't know."
shotgun sounds cool, but how the **** would any one know? lol.
I would approve of the shotgun more if firing it caused enemies in different parts of the level to hear and investigate appropriately; Enemies within a few rooms away would rush in as quickly as possible; enemies somewhat further away would report the sound on radio and come more slowly and in a more organized manner to investigate; enemies on the farthest side of the level would try to keep radio contact, improve their guard/don body armor, and provide reinforcements if necessary. Oh, and by shotgun, I mean any non-suppressed weapon (contrary to what many games might portray, guns are LOUD, shotguns especially so.)
I like the shotgun for messing around, but would never dare to use it on a real mission, excluding Hoddaiko and the last level.

I like the idea that you can finally play the game without having to be completely silent and stealthy for an hour or so. However, for some reason the idea is that you MUST play SC games all the same: stealthy, no weapons used on people unless you HAVE to. However, the fact is that SCCT is different than the other two games. Alarms are not as important, and neither is stealth. I welcome a new weapon in a series, and while you can still play the game stealthy, at least now it can have majorly fun replability stuff. SUMMARY: shotgun is cool!![]()
The shotgun is cool. And it fills up the whole sound bar every time you shoot. So any enemies in the nearby vicinity WILL come to investigate b/c everytime you shoot you make the most sound you can ever make. Plus the level in the demo , remember, was only a temporary enemy setup. so they didn't have alarms and junk. In all the other levels they will most likely have alarms that they can trigger. So if you shoot someone with a shotgun the nearby enemies will trigger the alarm...thus making the shotgun a last resort option (the way it should be)

I realize that things will work differently in the final and enemies will be a lot harder to take down once alerted by all the alarm system commotion. However, I doubt that enemies will really stray from their routes; it would be really cool to see enemies start hunting for you in packs once you've made a "big entrance" into the level, so to speak.
