Hello, where can I find English version of the S2 10th Anniversary expansion pack, Awakening of Cultures? Is there only German version available? Why are Ubisoft so determined to isolate their English customers??

The cultures game isnt an expansion, its a stand-alone game under the banner of Settlers Traditional much like the 10th anniversary and the German only Viking expansion for that.

Despite a petition and numerous threads about it, the game was never released in English.

The Settlers series is massive in Germany so in one respect I can see the decision to make it available only there....but.... it is a right kick in the teeth for fans outside Germany who have religiously followed the series from near the beginning and would continue to do so.

Surely its not that difficult to produce versions in other languages - even if they were just to sell them online.

Are any German speaking fans willing to translate these games for the community? Even if it's just a text translation of the storyline in a notepad file, that will be something!

To be honest, I don't want to disappoint people, but DS:ADK is simply horrid. I know people will disagree with me, and sure, why not. But I prefer the viking addon for DSNG.

I will admit that I don't speak a lick of German, but I am so obsessed with the game, that it doesn't matter. But, in all honesty, I played the cultures game and it wasn't that good. For instance, there's no lan mode similar to S2. You have to log into the lobby to play online.

This was annoying, because me and my partner like to play this game a lot together and are very competitive. The lack of lan means we effectively need to buy two copies of the game to play it together. I decided that the game didn't warrent such spending.

So I sold my copy to a mate, stuff that.

The thing of it is, the thing that's terrible about the game is the slow and terrible interface for laying down roads. Yes, it's too slow and awkward. As someone who plays DNG a lot, my whole tactic involves really good road layouts, and it's just too frustrating to do this in ADK.

But yeah, the lan part is crap.

As for the viking addon, it's worth playing even if you don't understand. The thing about the interface is, you learn what each building is. Nothing is different. I went to an absolute tonne of effort having to track down both DSNG and it's viking addon, as you cannot apply the viking addon to the english version S2:TNG.

Anyways, S2.5 is going good. Oh? You say that you don't know what's going on? Hmm, do I say?
