I've gotta keep this fire burning, so some news is better than no news.
what about assinsin creed? are those two game that close?
Hey, theYsguy, Beyond Good & Evil and Assassin's Creed have quite a few similarities including:
- Combat.
- Stealth.
- Open World elements.
I haven't really played AC, but this is what is different about BG&E,
- Role Playing elements.
- Puzzles.
- Photography for reports and of species.
It's real unique selling point is it's investigation. You play as Jade an action reporter, armed with a camera and dai-jo as she aims to, "Expose the Conspiracy. Capture the Truth"
In its week of release, Rayman Origins failed to reach the top 40 in the UK sales charts:

It did reach the individual console charts, but well below Sonic Generations which was already released quite some time ago. This was bound to happen really, there's no way Ubisoft didn't anticipate this. But I guess they now have an excuse to cancel BG&E 2 again.
Rayman origins only sold 50,000 units across all platforms. This means the game bombed.![]()
Honestly, they should have chosen a better release date for the game i.e. Not November and more like the summer or some other time.

Ironically that's about the same as what happened to BG&E.Originally posted by Zapages:

They made all the wrong decisions, and I can't understand why. It was obvious to anyone that the game wouldn't sell if they turned it into a full priced retail game, let alone in November. Why did Ubisoft not see this?Originally posted by Zapages:

most people don't wanna spend full price for a 2D game. that's probably what happened. i know i don't. don't get me wrong, it looked great, but it's still a 2D platformer. rayman origins definitely should have been both cheaper, and a download. but then, that's my opinion. hopefully this doesn't affect their decision to move forward with BG&E2. i think there's probably more people waiting for that game than rayman... maybe.![]()

Well with Christmas just around the corner, I expect sales of rayman to go up..
For such a well received game, I'm shocked it sold so few copies..
yeah... though again, as i said before, i think it has to do with it being a 2D game selling for full price. if you'll notice that even the 2D fighters (with exception of SF and MK which have 3D elements, as well as a massive fanbase) are usually being dropped by $10 or more right off the bat. also, most 2D games being sold on psn and xbl aren't being sold for full price either. i think ubi was being a bit too ambitious with rayman and, instead, should have been selling it for like $39.99 or something. it doesn't matter how great a 2D game might be... if it's 2D, people are still gonna look down on it until they play it. lower price = more willingness to risk your hard earned pay check on it.
