Hi,
I've got a AMD athlon 3400+ with 1g ram. A Nvidia Geforce 6800 GT with the newest drivers (77.74 WHQL) is also installed. I play SCCT (solo) with shader model type 3.0 with all the other settings turned on or maxed (only vertical sync is turned off). When I play the game it runs smooth for a while, but suddenly it stops for a few seconds and then I can continu.
This problem causes the benchmark results to have a minimum fpsrate of less than 1 frame per second. My videocard is supposed to support SM3.0 but the problem I experience is when I have turned this option on.
This problem occurs not only with higher resolutions (like 1280x768) but also with the lower resolutions (e.g. 1024x768).
Could there be anything wrong with my settings? Please, help me...
P.S. I hope that I have given all the necessary info about my PC

We is pros!
a lot of problems have been found with the 77.74 drivers iirc, try going back to 71.89 or the 77.70 drivers that come with bf2.
edit: hmm, got mi numbers confused. righty, the 77.72 is what ppl have problems with methinks, the 77.74 is non-existent according to nvidias site and the 77.76 are beta which you might want to give a try. but tbh i would go back to 71.89 if you havn't got a 7800gtx

Thanx,
However I still have the same problem with not only the 71.89 drivers but also with the 77.72 drivers. I even used Driver Cleaner 3.3 to be sure I completely uninstalled the previous drivers.
Does anyone know if there is a possible other explanation???

Looks like a buffering problem with your normal RAM or the dedicated RAM for your GFX. Disable all things in background and stuff. Windows is said to take 0.5 of all your RAM to function. Like 512MB on your system.

Too bad.
In taskmanager I saw that the only program running was my antivirus software. I ended it and also ended the application in the program itself.
I even ran adaware and spyware to be sure there was no adaware or spyware running in the background on my PC. With the earlier drivers (71.89 and 77.72) the game now sometimes crashes and I have to go back to Windows to close SCCT via taskmanager. (I now use the betaversion 77.76. The problem is still there).
I found out that it is not SM3.0 but the HDR that's causing the trouble. I could turn this off and use AA. But for the sake of the argument, why can't I use this HDR (I hear it's a very cool option in SCCT)?
Thanks for all the help anyway. I appreciate it.

Well, you CAN use it, but it affects frame rates

Well, I understand that
It's just that it's stuck for a moment and then it goes on with the regular fpsrate.
I just find it hard to believe that with my specs it can get stuck. Because according to http://firingsquad.com/hardware/spli...ry_1/page3.asp
I think I shouldn't experience a sudden fpsrate drop. (I think their specs are more of the same as mine. I'm sorry I'm not very familiar with all the technical details.
))
