    Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131096

    Processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103751

    RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820220144

    Video Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102714

I am planning on using money I get from work, Christmas money, birthday money(in Jan.) and, if I need more, then money from my tax refunds.

What do you guys(and gals) think?

EDIT: this is to rebuild my PC, not build a new one. I already have HDDs, Vista Ultimate, and XP MCE 2005.

Heres what I say, if ur gonna spend more money on anything, spend it on ur video card and get a 8800GT, it outperforms the 8800GTS 320mb and 640mb card in most cases and its only 250. Also, I used to be a AMD guy but Intel is where its at these days apparently.

This is the thing: I'm not looking to spend a LOT of money. Intels are a lot more expensive that AMD processors. I have a C2D in my laptop, and it is good for converting video and stuff, but I think I can get similar performance out of the Athlon 64 X2.

Also, about the video card. I'm looking for one that is under $200 and can get the job done. With the rebate, that one is ~$160. That's a good price for me.

Oh. I'm happy playing at 1028x768 or 1280x1024. I'm not into uber-high graphics settings. I'm more into gameplay than a game looking as good as it could.

If thats the case the only thing id change is the brand, go with EVGA for better customer support and their step up program. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130286

Ok. That has free shipping too.

The only reason I chose XFX was because that's what my current card is.(6800GS/XT AGP)

I haven't had any problems with it.

I've heard good things about EVGA too, so that should be fine.

Update: I'll be getting a Radeon 3850 instead of the 8600GTS.

Good call, I saw some benchies and it outperforms the GTS in most games. The only downside is ATI drivers, bleh.
