Thread: Can't connect to friend, all others can, but I can connect to others?? | Forums

  1. #1
    Ok, this is weird.

When I go online I can join other games but I can't find the game my friend is hosting but all others can join him. When I host a game all others can join me except that one guy. Then when a third one host a game, everyone can join him again except me!

What the hell is going on??? It can't be open ports because I can join other games, I can host a game which other people can join etc...

Please don't tell me that it is because of that ranking. My rank is higher then the others.

How can I fix this problem because it's very frustrating!!!

I had this problem too. Try updating the router's firmware. This is what worked for my friends and I.

Do you both have your firewalls configured properly?

Do you have the same provider? Different providers?

PS. I'm guessing this is on PC?

All ports are open, even without firewall we can't join.

We have the same provider and we live in the same village. But it's weird. Let's say I'm person A, the guy close to me B and the others C.

So when A hosts, C can join but B doesn't. When B hosts a game C can join but A can't. Then A can join other games on the net but B has more problems with other games.

Another difference is that I use XP and the other one (B) uses Vista. But C is mixed with Vista and XP??? Hmm, confusing...

And yep, it's the PC version.

Why is this always with Ubi games... Don't have these problems with SWAT, COD4, WiC,.... just open the ports in the firewall and bimsalabim it works, but when it is a Ubisoft game...

That seems to be something that happens to a small number of people on any game even on the Xbox/360.

hmm, we have it now a couple of days and it's always me that can't join friends or B that can't join me... All others can join me and can join B. It's strange.

So because it's a couple of days (it never worked between me and B) we off course rebooted the pc's a couple of times. B has checked his router and added him to DMZ of the router etc...

We tried all the normal stuff already that's why we are starting to believe it has something to do with the ranking. All my friends have a lower rank than me. They are corporals and I'm a master sergeant. When you search for a game, the window says it's looking for games with low pings and equal ranking. It's just a thought we have and surely I hope it's not true but I'm out of ideas...

So does anyone know how to reset your rank or turn off that it searches for games with the same rank? I prefer the last because then I can keep my rank.

PS: already thx for the reply's...

@Moderators: Could you check with the devolepment team that ranking matters when searching for a game, or that is shows all games.

I have the same prob on X360. If I am able to join another friend that's in the same room, I still can't talk to or hear the friend that I can't join. This has happened with two people on my friends list, one I have never been able to join or talk to, the other, I played with all the time with no issues until about a week ago. I have tried port forwarding, unplugging the headset, resetting router, everything everyone has suggested up until this point and nothing is working. I feel it has to be a bug in the game because we can take R6V2 out, put any other game in, and have no issues whatsoever. PLZ help, this has caused me to just about quit playing a game that I absolutely love, errr... at least before the patch.
