IMO with all the ressources needed for each creature and each town (3D models, textures, etc.), there won't be many towns. I'd say 5 or 6, who knows.

I'd prefer quality over quantity. Better have 4 alignments, which are perfectly balanced and all fun to play, than have lots of alignments with some being more powerful than others.

Ah yes, the blind guess, always a favourite Doubt it was what heroes_fen had in mind though...

I think we all want to know how many towns, what those towns are, what creatures do they have, how will they look, etc. Hope we get to know some soon

I hpoe the game will have mant towns, like in H3 where there were 9 towns (with the conxlux-exp). H4 had only 6 towns, and it was kind of boring... But of course, if H5 should have many towns, they should be balanced, not like in H3 where there were some powerful (castle, tower etc) and som weak (inferno, fortress etc)...

The number of towns is also interesting reagarding magic/style alignments... In H4 five towns there own special magic (nature, chaos etc.) while the last one were pure might (the barbarian-might town). In H3 we had the four elements, which were more or less closely associated with the different towns (fire for inferno, air for tower etc.)

Therer are also many different kinds of alliancesystems possible... In H4 you had a sircular system of 5 towns surrounding a neutral town, each of them sharing friendship with their sircular neighboors (haven, the "man-town", lay between order and nature, and was allied to them as a result, in addition to the neutral might-town)

In H3 we had 3 good (castle, tower, rampart), 3 evil (dungeon, inferno, necropolis) and 2+1 neutral (fortress, stronghold + conflux)... This system also worked well...

In H2 we only had good vs. evil, (knight, sorceress and wizard vs. necromancer, warlock and barbarian)...

Which of these systems is the best? H4, H3 or H2?

No, no, no. Heroes 3 wasn't "imbalanced". The towns were just different from each other, meaning that they weren't just different-colored thingies and too similar creatures of the same level. Each town had different advantages, and thus, different strategies.
PS: Fortress is my favorite. Mock it again, and I shall release my hordes upon thee.
Why? Why? Why am I not a cameo in this game?

I want more towns than enough!
With more differences from eachother than in Heroes4 and with lots of upgrades.
When 3do released armageddons blade I read in an article that they intended to put ~14 castles in Heroes4...much has changed since then and not in the right way...

    Let's see...
    1) Towns in H4 SUCKED, being a mix of creatures just thrown together (I have tried to play it, extensively, but I'm still VERY disspaointed)
    2) H3 Towns ruled. 9 towns, different from each other, BALANCED, so u could win with any castle (I like fortress too, but Dungeon is my favorite )
    3) towns in H2 were pretty much a preview of H3 in my opinion.
