    i dont know what happened i was working on a map then the ground just vanished i have an x800xl with 5.7 cat drivers

    Select "View"
    on the drop down list, you have show/hide or something like that.
    You must have hit the hot-key for "hide terrain". Just go back under the list & select "show all"
