    Hi again

It seems the most pressing questions regard the towns, their number and type, or name. The second question appears to be the polish version, we have a strong polish group here

So about towns. This will be a very important change from previous versions of the game : there will be no "town type" as such, no factions. So basically, the number of towns will be zero.

But dont be afraid ! We will use a system where the development tree will allow you to create any type of town, by choosing from the complete list of buildings. That means you will create the town type you want, tailored to your precise will. You will thus be able to mix any sort of creature in any town ! You can re-create a specific town that you like, or try a completely new mix. We call this the "adaptable forts" system (af).

Of course, creating a random mix of buildings and creatures will not always be efficient. Certain mixes will work, others not. But this will be a whole new range of discoveries in the game ! Just like building a deck in a trading card game, you will search for the optimal combination, and try your luck and strategy against others.

I'd like to add that the efficiency of a town will also depend on where it is built. You will create towns starting from villages, found on the map. Either you leave these villages as they are when you capture them, and they will provide resources and taxes, as well as a bonus in movement points (when your armies come to rest). Or you build on them to create a new town. The type of village, the environment around it, will predestinate a more efficient sort of town. That means that a great mix will need to be adapted to the map you are playing on ! As any good strategy, you need to adapt to the battlefield.

As you can see from this "af" system, the number of possible towns in the game will be almost limitless, given the number of buildings you can make, and the resulting efficiency

As to the polish version... Ah well that was only one question That'll be for next time !

Sounds interesting. In other note, it wasn't such a bad and uninformative question as I thought first. Thanks for the answer!
Why am i forced to have an "U" as a screen name? I'd like to sue someone.

I can see it already. A lot of people are not going to be happy with this simply because that this is completely against how all other Heroes games were.

Personally I'm not going to bash the idea. I want to see how it actually works before forming an opinion. Right now I don't know how I feel about the idea. On one hand it offers a lot more variety in gameplay, but on the other hand the whole idea behind having certain creatures in certain towns was the morale factor. Now that's completely gone.

Here's to hoping my one question of when the public would be getting a demo is answered soon so we can actually see how this new system works.

Thanks for your answer! I hope this is not an April fool joke, because the information was quite promising concidering how addictive Heroes V might get..
Ps. Ok, it is an April fool! *Puuh* Iâ´d stick into Rampart town anyway no matter how much variety..

Sounds like the balance will be impossible to achieve.

    Thank you for the answers.
It will be kinda strange not to have towns anymore, but I can't judge until I've played the game.
Although seeing monks and vampires in one army could look strange..

That sounds a bit...weird but it can add A LOT of depth and tactical choices.

I just hope towns won't lose their identity, sadly a town full of undead buldings won't look very undeadish with this system.

But one thing is sure, we'll have to use our brain with this system. I'm curious to know more

    No possible balance, no identity.

I really thought Etherlords wouldn't have anything to do with H5, now I see I was wrong.

    Bad news indeed.
