Well it's only been a few days... but seems this forum has nil/zip/zero activity... pity I was hoping to find a solution....
Time to return the game and spend my cash on game that works.

Me too. I have an old Saitek 36 which obviously cannot be programmed in Windows XP, but the game will not recognize it even though I have it installed as one of those generic joysticks w/throttle. It works fine like that in other games, just not Blazing Angels 2. Does anyone have any ideas why some of us are having these problems? Thanks guys.

Guys, I found this further down in the forum:

I'm gonna give it a try.

Guys,
I have seen this problem talked about a ton however I rarely see anyone advising people of the simple fix. Make sure you are making your joystick configurations in the far right column that are all "?" by default. Leave the first two columns alone and only work on the column that says "game controls". This should solve you problems.

Firstly, despite claims to the contrary, hardly any joysticks are recognised, many people have reported this issue, so you end up flying using the mouse or keyboard, you need an analogue control for a flight game but there is a good reason real planes don't have mice, you run out of deskspace at inopportune moments. The controls are far too sensitive, you can adjust these, but the game appears to totally ignore any changes and forget them the next time you enter the options. Graphics wise the game looks pretty good, but the menu system (ported from consoles) is a disaster zone.

I was able to get my joystick working properly. All the buttons are messed up, but it works. My X&Y axis say speed up. Crazy, but it works. I am using a Saitek AV8R. I was able to map my LOG X 3D Pro too, make sure the throttle is a halfway when assigning keys. Also, make sure you are updated with the latest patches.

I am also trying to get my AV8R to work with Blazing Angels. I will read what is here again and hope to figure this out. New to the game and how it works, so this is a challenge. I suppose what I need is someone who can spell out the steps for an old guy new to this stuff.
