Thread: GRAPHIC CARDS (radeon 9200 v fx5200) | Forums

  1. #1
I just thought I would inform any guys out there who are considering getting new but cheap graphic cards.

I have two Cards which I have tested on this game on same machine.

    Results are as follows.

ATI 9200 dd 128 = fps 28+ easy on high settings with 778 ram

    fx5200 256 = 10 - 12 fps still enjoyable but a lot of tweaking required.

I know I have two older cards but this info is for the people who are thinking of upgrading as cheap as possible. I am no expert so ask about on the forum for other opinions.

Trust me when I say the ATI whoops *** compared to the Nvidia geforce. I have been testing all day on this game.

Now I am happy and will start playing.

The wider your view and the more action above water WILL stress a card, but I try to stay with my boat. more ram will definitely help tho...

Now that I am tweaking the ATI I am getting much better gameplay and fps.

I cannot believe I insisted on keeping the 5200 256 in my machine, what a fool.

I feel like getting RTW back of my mate cos it ran like sh*t on the 5200.

This game is wiping my head

I was running the game in battle scenes with 20 FPS and full settings on a 9200SE, check your drivers and RAM usage because if a 9200SE can handle it the 9700pro should cover it (kinds goes without saying).

Please do. Alot of us have 5200 and would love to see how he set it up. I was tweaking mine last night and though I'm getting it to a respectable point, I would love to see what a more experienced hand would do.

I got a 1GB ram, so I think it helps the card. AGP cards share the availiable system ram.
Anyway, I have EVEYTHING MAXED, and am getting smooth gameplay. This is no LOMAC code, thats for sure. Stutter free.

The boats aren't that fast so that is probably why FPS is soo forgiving with this game. Everything is nice and smooth. Water, boats, birds, So I wouldn't worry too much about upgrades just for THIS game.
