Guess what....Lambert is in the game.

Gen. O'Neil is voiced by Don Jordan

he actually talks as two characters. the general and some dude named greg thorpe...i believe that's the characters name. i lol'd when i heard lambert in the game. would be awesome if in one mission he came on your infolink and directed you on a mission. lol.

as far as the stealth gameplay goes. i love it. i think it's on par with the splinter cell game's the only difference would be the light and shadow element is not used in deus ex.

i'm a huge deus ex fan. I've played the original deus ex TONS of times as well as the sequel. and i still find some new way to infiltrate a building. that's why i love the deus ex franchise because it offers you freedom to play the game you want. it doesn't pigeonhole you into one playstyle......unlike conviction. sorry had to throw that out there.

being a big deus ex fan i was worried because to my knowledge no one from the original game made human revolution. so i was worried it would come out like conviction. someone would pick and choose what THEY liked about deus ex and scrap what they didn't. upon completing deus ex i was AMAZED at how much care went into this game. it FEELS like a deus ex game. it plays exactly like the original, albeit with better graphics and melee takedowns.
Grim- Your Mission is to infiltrate without being seen.

Sam- i forgot how to do that grim.

I knew that was Lambert as soon as I heard it. Miss that voice greatly. On the subject of voices and SC, the main character is the voice of Kobin from Conviction. He lends himself to a few Ubisoft titles.

As did I. Don Jordan just has the special ring in my ear after all of those years of orders. And Jensen is voiced by Elias Toufexis who did Kobin, who is a very solid VO in my opinion.

I did not like how he voiced kobin. it was very over the top. He did do deus ex perfectly though. that monotone/gruff voice is what i think of when i hear deus ex. the original game had a very monotone/deep voiceed main character and i like that they continued it.

For what it's worth, count me in as one more person who has never been able to get inside the FPS "immersion". I don't think have been able to articulate it as well as some of the others, but the "bobble-head" reference nailed it for me. FPS games make me feel what it would be like to be a "bobble-head". I'm also torn on Deus Ex, for the same reasons - so much looks good, yet it's in a first-person point of view. Still very much a Third-person fan methinks.

    Hello Boys and girls!
I just spent my entire saturday playing Deus Ex, no food, 2 pee breaks and just ONE 5 minute break as my fingers were bending ways they naturally shouldn't.....and the verdict is....

    Deus Ex=Awesome. 10/10

The stealth gameplay is the best this side of Chaos Theory. The devs have successfully made the first 'Aggro/Classic Stealth game'

    For classic we have:

    1. Hacking
    2. Security devices like turrets, lasers and cameras
    3. Datapads with key info just like Old school SC
    4. A plethora of LTL takedowns and a stun gun + LTL grenades
    5. Cloak
    6. Several augmentations which alter your stealth stats...like silent landing from jumps, a detailed minimap a la MGS
    7. DISTRACTIONS! chuck barrels and boxes, plus the guards have ears!
    8. Dragging and Hidin bodies.
    For Aggro we have:

    1. Proper AI density
    2. Excellent AI behaviour (although sometimes they seem to be oblivious to silenced rounds whizzing past their heads)
    3. Large maps..and I mean MASSIVE with MULTIPLE approaches...so you can do the old LKP trick here as well
    4. Gunplay feels amazing, weapons sound weighty and menacing.
    5. features like Aug Vision allows you to spot enemies, Mark and Track augmentation...but this all is balanced really well with the rechargeable cell system.
    6. Cool looking contextual takedowns.
    7. Possibly the coolest looking, sounding and firing Suppressed Pistol ever.

ALL here, the game is designed with stealth and exploration in mind...the levels are huge and there are SEVERAL ways to reach the same place....this game is a stealth players paradise.
Remember all of us discussing how the next SC should be like..with massive levels and player freedom (Aggro/Classic)? well.....Deus Ex is the closest we will get.
I played from classic SC style ghosting to SCCT style of super silent LTL takedowns with Hacking down to SCC style of picking off loners one by one and then attacking...then vanish...the game allowed ALL of it..AND made it a fun thing to do.

The game looks gorgeous, the plot is VERY intriguing not to mention well written and it has the best conversation mechanic I have ever seen..with the ability to complete a lot of the objectives using just conversations.

The game is dynamic and the feels real...there are repurcussions to every action, SPOILER: I killed a LOT of hostages by not being to careful in the first level:/SPOILER

    Now a quick SCC-DEHR review:

Dues Ex feels and sometimes plays a LOT like conviction. The cover to cover although very nifty is not as smooth as Conviction's but the AI is slightly sharper when it engages you..no camping here...I have been flanked and killed multiple times. Playing on medium difficulty yet dont last much under sustained fire. Also, the voice actors of the guards in Conviction are present here as well....although not very frequent and dont spew insane amounts of profanity. You'll hear familiar voices as the AI hunts for you. You can play this game like SCC but minus the environmental navigation....but the various approaches and levels in a map allow the player to move around more...add to that a cloak and voila! Aggro Stealth! and a polished fun version of it.

Bottom line the mind boggling amount of choices in the game regarding 'Stealth' alone makes it one of the best stealth titles of this year. IMO it owns Conviction from this availability of 'Choice' alone. Conviction does Aggro Stealth best...Deus Ex HR does STEALTH better.

Now quit reading and get this effin game.

    P.S
to all the FPS haters...there is a FOV option in Deus Ex and 3rd Person Cover system (which you are in 90% of the time) so pick it the **** up and PLAY

I agree that this is one of the best stealth games I have ever played, if not one of the best games period. I am nearing the end of the game and I have yet to kill anyone except unfortunately the bosses force you to kill. I was hoping that it would be like in MGS3 where you can just tranq the hell out of them and get a bonus. Other than that this game is perfect. I am playing on the hardest setting and it gives you that tense feeling of being vulnerable all the time because you can die in like 2 hits, but if you stealth correctly you can take out whole rooms without being seen or just pass through.

Perfect blend of classic stealth, aggro stealth, or for those who prefer, guns a blazing.

I love the limited ammo and inventory space too, makes you really think about what to pick up.

This game does so many little things right! Especially if we compare it with very unpolished Alpha Protocol! The world is so believable. I was amazed, when I slowly walked near proximity mine on the wall. I hadn't free space in my inventory, so from inventory screen I dropped few items on the floor before disarming the mine. And when I returned to the game this mine denotated by falling items! Wow!

Thanks god, I could choose english language pack via Steam for this game. So I heard Lambert too! Twice!

Exactly! The amount of work put into this game is astounding....and I got it for 27 quid! half the price of other AAA titles! Makes you wonder, that if Devs can deliver The Witcher 2 and Deus Ex HR at half the price with X1000 more content...are we paying a fair amount?

They told you not to go in that room!
SPOILER: Well I did overhear something about a Bomb....and when I saw the hostages upstairs, I was like OH nO! theres a bomb here...gotta get em out!! so I rush them, as soon as I enter, they start screaming "NO! You'll trigger the bomb!" I try to back out but the door closes, I frantically try to free the hostages, but can't, so I spot the vent enter it and watch as they all die. Never has such a thing happened to me in a game...and I loved it. Since then I have been extra observant./SPOILER
