Question by dude1445:

will the crowd at any point in the game be an advantage to get away if your seen by the guards? ex. guard suspects something of you. you fire a gunshot. everybody goes crazy. you run with the crowd to blend in. escape.

Areas with a heavy civilian presence make you harder to spot, and you can use groups of civilians to mask yourself from enemies. Causing a panic in the crowd is a sure way to draw attention though – enemies that were unaware of your presence will become alerted, and try to find the source of the disturbance. You can try to run with the crowd, but since the enemies will be watching more closely you’re quite likely to be spotted. It’s a much better tactic to keep the peace, and not cause a disturbance for as long as possible – enemies will have a harder time spotting you when you can hide behind groups of civilians having a conversation, buying from vendors, admiring the scenery, and so on.

Question by Vth_F_Smith:

If Sam is not equipped with a gun and we are using the Mark & Execute, is he going to use his close combat skills / the enviroment to take his enemies down or just pulling out the gun and shoot them?

Yes, if Sam is near an enemy when you start a M&E, he will use hand to hand combat to take him out. It’s actually a great tactic to use, since it allows you to “chain” up your executions; you will immediately re-earn the right to use M&E since you killed an enemy with hand to hand. We spent a lot of time with Krav Maga experts to make sure we have lots of fast and efficient takedowns, and you’ll notice a lot of variety in how you perform CQC kills, so we think you’re going to have lots of fun with this. We put a lot of attention to detail into considerations such as whether or not the enemy has a weapon in their hand, what type of weapon it is, what direction and speed you’re attacking from and how you are armed, so you will feel a lot of variety in the hand to hand system.

Question by jenguando1977

I have heard we can interact with the environment. Does this extend to only shooting lights and climbing mechanics or will we be able to interact with the objects in the environment at all?

There are many different ways you can interact with the environment which isn’t just shooting lights and clambering over things, you can also use it in areas such as:
- Interrogation scenes – you can use the environment in different ways to interrogate people. Smashing someone through a window and threatening to throw them out, for example.
- Cover – you can use the environment for cover and certain guns can shoot through certain cover.
- Lights can be switched on/off instead of just shooting them or using an EMP.
- Cars’ alarms can be set off to be used as a distraction.
- You can open/close windows to go through onto the ledge.
- Dynamic objects in the environment. Shoot/break objects (ie statue, flower pot) to get guards attention
- Civilians are part of the environment. You can create a panic by taking out your gun and use it to distract the enemies.
- Doors are also breakable

Question by MRBIGRJD

First off I enjoyed the E3 Demo. My question is will I be expecting to see some of the original gadgets returning I.e. Sticky shockers, Air foil rings, gas grenades?

As Sam is no longer part of Third Echelon he will no longer have access to some of the specialised equipment that Splinter Cells use. He will instead have to use whatever he can find as a replacement for those tools (such as a car wing mirror for a snake cam) but later in the game he may obtain some of fans’ favourite gadgets, including some sticky gadgets.

Question by apostam24:

Q. I saw the splinter cell conviction gameplay today but then I found out that it isn’t coming out on the PS3. Why would you do that ?

A. Splinter Cell conviction is a true Microsoft exclusive title and there are no plans to have Splinter Cell Conviction on other platforms. There are several reasons behind this choice. First of all, Splinter Cell games are historically linked with Microsoft platforms. The first Splinter Cell on the original Xbox was one of the first games to fully exploit the console’s technical possibilities. At that time, Microsoft really believed in the game potential and provided strong support to promote it. So, there is a “link of heart” between the franchise and the platform. Some games are like this (think of Final Fantasy for instance). The second reason behind this choice is purely linked to production. Having a single target platform means that we can optimize the game even further, because we only have one type of - console - hardware to support.

Question by Stealth_chill

Q. Is it possible to go through the whole game without being seen, heard, or using my pistol...
Basically, can I use only stealth the whole game??

Absolutely, all the maps can be played completely in stealth when special circumstances do not require you to play otherwise. It is up to the user to decide how they play the game. We have crafted a versatile and rewarding experience for all gamers. With that said, Conviction is designed to give the player an edge if they play intelligently. For example, playing smart will allow you access to Mark and Execute, as well the ability to gain information from interrogations, among other benefits.

Question by SplinterSteams:

Q. I am dying to know; when will we hear about the multiplayer details?

We are currently developing a thrilling multiplayer component in Montréal. But all Multiplayer concepts and functionalities will be revealed later, with detailed information on game modes. Preparing events such as E3 requires a lot of work (preparing for an event is almost like developing a game in the game), and we need to stay focused. That’s why we can’t cover all game elements at once. However, we are already working to show you the multiplayer in the coming weeks. [/list]

If you’ve not already posted up your own question please do so in this thread and you could very well see your question answered by the devs in the coming weeks
