Sorry if this has been asked but I have not seen any information that would lead me to believe so. Can anyone enlighten me?

there was something that suggested some sort of customizability. Although we are not sure if that is true and if it is to what extent it reaches.

We do know that playing ranked games unlock new skins for mercenaries dspies alike though.

yeah apparently there are at least 3 skins (the only 3 skins we have been shown) that change your mercenary look. One look of a mercenary is lightly armored, one is medium armored, and then 3rd is heavily armored. The heavily armored one isn't too bad looking but I find the other two pretty goofy looking.

Since the foundations for having new skins is in the game, lets hope that the devs patch us with more skins in updates.

It'd be possible with a PC patch and content on the Xbox Live Marketplace...but don't get your hopes up.

listen hear y'all. i guess you guys dont read xbox magazine. it shows Sam in the mugshot picture on the cover of the issue that says there will be 3 merc skins, and 3 spy skins. GO READ
