    Hy guys,

    I was wondering why my screen resolution is limited to 1152 x 864? Looking at my rig/setup I thought I should by able to get a higher resolution.
    It is as follows;

    Dell XPS 700
    Intel Core Duo E6600 @ 2.40GHz,
    2GB RAM,
    2 x GeFORCE 7900GS running in SLi,
    LG L19WT 19" Widescreen monitor using DVI lead (max res: 1440 x 900)

    Am I being dumb in thinking I should be getting a higher resolution?

    Welcome here Keith!

    A higher resolution is indeed possible.

    Unfortunately not by using the in game Setup screen, neither by using IL2Setup.

    You will have to edit the file called conf.ini (in the folder where you installed the game), and change it in there, using Notepad.

    Like this:
    [window]
    width=1152     <- change 1152 into 1440
    height=864 <- change 864 into 900
    (...)
    SaveAspect=0


    You may also need to set ChangeScreenRes=0 ... not sure though...

    Once you set it to 1440x990 this way, using the in game setup or IL2Setup may change it back to a default value, so be carefull when using them screens.

    Hi thanks for the reply, but I have this problem with all the games I play & I can't adjust the resolution any further through the nVidia settings. Most other PCs I have messed around with allow you to adjust the resolution higher than 1152 x 864.
    I'm sure my rig can go higher!

    So, you can't even up your Windows Desktop resolution???

    Weird!

    Must be a driver thing?
    Or you've not setup your monitor correctly?
    (As in: tell windows what monitor is connected)

    Maybe post a DxDiag Report here?

    Can't see anything special or out of the ordinary in the report.

    Maybe it's because the refresh rate is set at 75hz?

    Can you bring it down to 60hz, and see if that will bring up other resolutions?

    BTW, how and where are you trying to change the resolution? Via Control Panel, Display options? Or are you using Nvdia's panel?

    Sorry, I just reread your first post. 1440x900 should be possible.

    hmmmm...have you tried different drivers?

    Like F said, you may be limited based on your refresh rate. LCD's don't need more than 60hz refresh rate. I'd change that then go into the conf.ini and change the res settings under the [window] column to your native res
