The problem with reviews, is that in many cases the game is over rated or under rated. I think that renting a game or playing the demo gives you a better feel for the game. However, I have no doubts about BIA. Most of the people who have written the previews seemed very excited. I think it will do very well in the reviews. First of all, is that it is something new and innovative. It also has nonlinear gameplay, good graphics, good character development, an actual storyline, advanced AI, physics, and many other things that are usually found in games that get high ratings.

I played Halo 2 on a m8s Xbox a few times, just didnt do anything for me, despite the reviews.

HL2 got good ratings for all the right reasons (storyline etc) and from what ive read of the hands on reveiws of BIA its the gameplay thats impressing the reviewers atm, its the gameplay that i like the most.

Yes, a magazine or website wont be v popular if they give one of the biggest hyped games for some years bad reviews, no matter how accurate they are, just wont happen.

Cant remember what site i used to go on but it was a site run about 3 pc gamers, and 5 console gamers, the forums were great as they used to reveiw the games for what the games actually were, helped me save alot of money on games that turned out to be complete pish

    OK, here we go...

I have serious doubts that BiA will be good on PC. First of all, from the last video footage somebody from GB said that PC version has better graphics, that's it. It sounds exactly like developers interviews about Men of Valor, another promising game developed simultaneously for XBOX and PC. We all know about MoV failure, it plays like a crappy straight port from XBOX on PC. Second thing, I've seen all videos about BiA and for me (it's only my opinion) the game DOES NOT LOOK AS A PC GAME, it does not have a PC feel.

I will not buy the game until a demo is realeased and I play it. Reviews and previews nowdays SAY NOTHING, they all are "politically correct". So my advice for PC gamers - do not pre-order it, do not buy it until YOU play a demo.

Just so you know, they have altered some gameplay aspects for the PC.

    1. Enemies have a quicker aiming time to counter the speed of the mouse.

    2. There is no auto aim of any type on the PC version. On the console version, there is a slight auto aim that points you in the general direction of your enemies but not to the point where you don't have to do some aiming on your own.

There are several reasons MoV failed on the PC version.

    1. It wasn't very good on the console either.

    2. They were obviously in it just for the money.

    3. They could care less about the community. In my opinion, it was a take your money and run type of game.

When Gearbox first started work on BIA, the XBOX had either just been released or hadn't been released at all. BIA is not a port. It has been optimized for all of the platforms, but don't take it from me. There are plenty of interviews, dev responses and previews that prove that none of your worries are the case.

Yeah exactly! Remember all the rave reviews Doom 3 got? But when you play it it was the same old **** level after level, and brought nothing new to gaming except nicer graphics (at the usual price of low fps).

As excited as I am about BIA, I'm still waiting for a demo. Excitement is based on assumption and can be wrong. The thing is, I have every confidence in the SP but aren't fully sure about MP, and I guess the demo will be SP so its still gonna be a gamble buying it.

Tennessee, I do not care about autoaim, this thing does not exist in a PC game world, so a quicker aiming time of bots as an object has no sense for a PC gamer.
I'm 32 and a programmer with 12 years of experience (not in a game development though) and know that you MUST sacrifice a lot to make a program works on multiply platforms or you have to deal with separate builds specific for each platform. I don't think GB has a separate and totally dedicated to PC build.
I'm not knew in this world and know that a concole market is at least 5 times bigger then a PC market if we are talking about games. And it's understandable if GB is aiming BiA preferrably to consoles, I just do not want to be fooled by buying a game for PC if it's features are stripped down because of console nature of development.
Anyways, give me a demo and I'll decide where my money goes.
