It is very critical that your motherboard chipset ( bios update should be a last resort ) drivers, video card drivers, and just to be safe..sound card drivers are all up to date before playing this game. If you don't know how to do the above or don't want to do the above then don't be surprised when you have system problems.

Don't think that applies for me, everything here is up to date (AGP drivers, bios, graphics, sound). Though of course this advice may well fix a large percentage of the issues

Trotterwatch. I am the computer moderator for a SH Clan web site. I generally don't advise BIOS updating just because it is too easy for someone to hose up their rig.

Are you having an issue with the game?

No problem. I help out a bunch of COD-UO and SH players. Members of 6 clans. Nothing like the numbers here but still I might be of some good.

Okay it is obvious that some systems are not quite up to the task of running this game. That does not necessarily mean a hardware update is called for (unless you have a gforce 3 or mx card) but a driver update and some tweaking may be called for.

ati cards go to this site https://support.ati.com/ics/support/...ge&folderID=27

    nvidia here

Motherboard drivers you are on your own. If you don't know what mb chipset or bios you need go to this site and download the pcwizard. It will tell you all that you need to know.

Also this program is good. I use all of em.

Tell me, just where exactly did it say on the box that the game needed the most up to date Windows XP there is? Oh, that's right, it doesn't say that. There should be a disclaimer that says it needs them. Or better yet, a disclaimer that says this game will only function on 50% of the computers it installs on that are within specs.
