K... story line better not suxor... Voice acting better not suxor... Checkpoints better not suxor (I did beat the game on realistic but I ripped all my hair off my head)

Does anyone know information on farcry 2??? IS it following up on the console versions of Farcry or Farcry PC?

It has to be a followup on the consoles, and PC already has Crysis which is basicly a future setting of Far Cry with the nano suit replacing Predator abilities.

Ubisoft isn't stupid, they know how much money they could make with an xbox 360 version. As far as playstation goes, PS3 is a P.O.S, and I could care less about it.

No I'm not wrong, if you see that there's a sequel version of FarCry Instincts on Xbox which is named with an addition name 'Evolution' at the end and FarCry Instincts has the same storyline as FarCry on PC, just that you're drugged. And you have the same abilities as the nano suit in which you can make a power punch, jump higher than an average human, and run really fast.
I know the nano suit will have camouflauge and the Predator abilities have night vision and sense of smell but I believe that both games are going to be the same if using the same CryEngine (Since FarCry was developed by CryTek on PC and Instincts on Xbox) but a different setting, characters and time era.

They should have checkpoints but also let use quick save. Voice acting wasn't that bad in Far Cry. Story could use a bit more work.

On the console versions, there were checkpoints. I'm sure that FarCry 2 would have checkpoints, sometimes saving just adds memory and a way to accidently get killed every time you load on that save.
Other than that, I believe that people would save if they were out of the map.

I would be very suprised if they used the same generation of the CryEngine.

When UBI acquired the remaining IPR for FC at GDC 2006, they also agreed a perpetual license for use of the Far Cry edition of CryEngine1 to develop their games.
From the wording of the press release it is unclear if they have the rights to modify the Engine itself.

Paris, FRANCE – March 9, 2006 – Today Ubisoft, one of the world's leading video game publishers, announced that it acquired all the remaining intellectual property rights related to the Far Cry property as well as a perpetual license to use the CryENGINE Far Cry Edition.

Under the terms of the agreement Ubisoft is granted an exclusive worldwide perpetual assignment of all property and Intellectual Property rights of the Far Cry brand, including characters, likenesses, copyrights and environmental settings. Ubisoft is thus free to develop and publish sequels, add-ons, derivative and merchandising products on any format for its full benefit.

In addition to the brand in itself, Ubisoft, its subsidiaries and affiliated companies have the license to use the Far Cry Edition of CryENGINE to develop, sell and distribute an unlimited number of video games. This provides another own production pipeline for the company. Ubisoft's internationally renowned development teams look forward to taking this engine to the next level.

"Far Cry is one of Ubisoft's most successful brands and this agreement is one further step in our strategy to constantly enrich our catalogue of fully owned brands. With Far Cry, we look forward to further consolidating our leading position in the first person shooters genre" said Yves Guillemot, President & CEO of Ubisoft Entertainment.

So whether they use CryEngine1 or a modified version of it, it seems unlikly that they are using the CryEngine2...

Still wrong, because Far Cry and Far Cry instincts doesn't have the same storyline, because in farcry Doyle dies and in farcry instincts not.
By the way you also get drugged in far cry but it didn't effect the gameplay.
