Attaching Pic To Signature | Forums

Can someone please help
Every time i try to attach a pic to my profile and display on forum it only shows html code and no pic.
I must be missing something..
Link goes to correct place but...
Please help....

HTML is disabled on this forum for security reasons (and it will never be turned back on if I have anthing to say about it...). To put an image into your post use the [img] tag. If you need help with UBBCode, check the help files under the "Tools" tab at the top of each page .

I still question not allowing at least sanitized HTML ... Then again, it's fairly easy to put in a nonsanitary image link if one was interested in doing that type of thing.

Ok is it possible to use UBBCode to attach a picture to my signature then?

Sanitized HTML would require more processing on top of the rest of the post's parsing controls in order to make secure, and even then there's no guarantee it's completely script-kiddie-free, as you pointed out.

Better to put in suggestions and requests for specific tags you'd like to see in UBBCode and see if they can implement them.

Firstly, just checking to see if my signature works now. Secondly, if we cannot have pictures attached to our signature normaly, what if you have it so that we send you our signature image, and you give us a piece of code that references that picture only. It might take a bit of work, but it would end the whole image attachment discussion.

since your image appears to be broken, I'm gonna test something I know should work...

[edit] Okay... it would seem that freewebs doesn't allow remote image linking (hardly surprising...), thus your sig image is displaying as a broken graphic on the boards, shadowcats.

Thanks, didn't know that actually. We don't really want to get a hosting somewhere else just to put up a signature, so what would you recommend we do?

Well, fine.

I want:

table with row and cell inner tags.

spoiler sets font to background color -- OR uses CSS to make a +/- dialog that clicking on expands (that'd be cool, then people wouldn't have to worry about mishighlighting either).

color to change font colors

Uhmm... I like horizontal rules, but the way they're implemented in html makes them not feasible here unless they were done as a 100% wide embedded table, which is just ugly.


Honestly table and spoiler tags would keep me happy. I like formatting my text within tables once in a while.
