Funny isnt it how when I emailed nvidia years ago when this first happened with the 8-series, they said it wasn't their problem, it was Bluebytes - and now they're the ones who have fixed it. (Either way I now use an ATI card :P)

Weird, because I still get blackness on textures when I'm zoomed at certain distances. I run on 2 8800 GT's.

    Hey Guys..

I just got my settlers 4 installed and had the same problem (9600GT notebook) but found this solution - download this modified 196.21 .inf file: Driver the first file is the 196.21 driver, and the second one is the modified .inf.

    So fix for laptop users:
    Download the two files,
    run the 19621_win7x64.exe
move the nv_disp.inf into the extracted folder (196.21_win7x64)
    Run the setup
If windows ask if you wanna continue, just press yes.

And there you go, now you have a fully functional 196.21 driver working on you laptop!

    Hope this help you guys,
    -Tjuffi Denmark

Just to say when I had my gaming laptop I found the laptopvideo2go drivers would cause me the dreaded bsod (blue screen of death) on boot up (this didn't happen on another laptop I had so it is dependant on hardware).

So if Stephmj's driver causes this, try the ngohq:

    http://www.ngohq.com/

driver - I always found this one stable.

    Chief.
