Crawling Frame Rate (yes another one!!) | Forums

I have between 6-16 fps on my Geforce fx5600 GPU 256mb ddr. It is just unusable. I have tried to play about with setting i.e. no effects etc and it hasn't made any difference. Any suggestions? I have already tried the suggestions in ranma7's topic of 'big fps problems'

specs:
Windows XP home
AMD xp2000 (1.67Ghz)
768MB RAM
Geforce fx5600 gpu 256mb DDR
Maxtor 120GB HD

Framerate not higher than 16. This cannot be. This must not be. I tried everything to improve the framrate, nothing helps. I hope the patch will help.

My Kids machine is a xp2600 with nforce 2 chipset 512 333 mem with ATI 9600XT he is getting in the 30-40 range settings medium 1024X769 32 go figure. I think the FX cards are having a hard time with this game his machine is out performing mine hands down......

I have Xp2000,512 ddr,Gf4ti4200 and runs really smooth(20-30fps) with everything maxxed except water low,heat blur off and visible range medium.(count 4xFSAA and 2xAnisotropic too!)Looks like only dx8 compatible cards do it ok.
