Thread: is it earthquake or some sort of monster | Forums

I think it was a natural disaster.

Here you've got one of America's biggest cities, and then all of a sudden, a lot of monsters make one massive, unified effort to destroy everything, and in six days the city is destroyed? What, is this some kind of monster war? Unless we're dealing with extremely intelligent creatures that are in a legion against Chicago, I'm pretty sure it's going to be just random, separate, uncoordinated attacks against a city. Which means that it would take a lot more than six days to do that kind of damage. You don't just destroy Chicago in six measly days unless it's a unified effort, not random.

But on the other hand, nature can easily do that kind of work in that amount of time. Easily. Viruses, diseases, all that stuff spreads like wildfire.

My ideas: if this game has some sort of monster race in it, they have be intelligent, they must be coordinated, which means we're tied up in some sort of Halo/Gears of War scenerio.

If this game is based off of purely natural disasters, then we're tied up in a personal struggle to survive.

i think its a terrorist attack, notice the phone call right before it happens where the phone lines basically blow.

I think I actually like the idea of a terrorist attack, when's a pure survival game based on terrorism around? And, plus, the terrorists could fulfill the goal as the wack-jobs you avoid and kill. =P

not that the terrorist idea blows, but why would people be searching for water if the terrorist were around, wouldn't people prefer to fight back. it would be quite difficult for terrorists to hold people off of every single grocery store in chicago. however not a bad idea

okay my theory is the government was workin on some sort of machine and then somethin goes wrong and it tears up the city and the government doesnt wanna get survivors because of it and the main guy adam figures it out

I was reading xbox magazine and they were saying that the biggest earthquake ever scored was a 9.5 on the richter scale but the one that hits Chicago is a 10.5.....I live in Chicago so this game is that much more intresting.

I've seen earth quakes and that is one of them. Earthquakes create faults as shown here. And those three guys wouldn't be so worried about water if a massive monster was attacking

I did notice the movement before the crack which could be either monster or whatever. But what stands out most to me is the direction the crack is going. The crack is heading in the direction the dust cloud comes from. You would think that if the epicenter of the quake had been downtown where the cloud comes from, the crack would come from that direction also. You know moving outward like.
So I'm thinking there are atleast two forces at work here. The major event, downtown, and the smaller event, the crack. Who knows there could be numerous smaller cracks that we were not shown.
So I say two, maybe multiple, unknowns heading towards major unknown for whatever reasons. Not an earthquake.

I think the crack just made several buildings fall, creating lots of dust in the outcome.
