What is with fangirls and famboys writing such strange fanfictions anyway? Why not write something straight every once in a while??? lol

because the kind of people who write fan fiction are the kind of people who would otherwise just make the people they write about in the sims and make them do naughty things there. But they find writing to be more "Creative" or something.

    generally they're nutters.

ROFL!!! It took me a moment to figure out this was the guy who apparently plays Shaun in AC. But, in all seriousness, he raises an interesting point, and that is the primary reason I don't read fanfiction anymore. I got tired of seeing that crap. I learned that anyone can write a story, but not just anyone can write a good story. I write fanfiction, too, but there are times that I am appalled to say that I do, because I have a feeling how people might react.

As for straight stories, I'm working on one about Altair and Malik, which I hope to finish soon. I'm also doing one for Brotherhood, exploring the backstory of one of my Assassin recruits.

I have to wonder how he found out about these anyway (they're in Italian and he apparently read a few of them).

I guess maybe he happened upon them while looking up info on things he done - which would be a pretty horrifying discovery, what with finding people dressed as you fubble snuggling and all

*raises hand* As a writer of fan fiction, I resent this comment. I don't write slash and I don't read it in Assassin's Creed either. When I write fics for the game, I try to keep everything as close to story fact as I can and if I can't, I at least write the AU in a believable way.

Unfortunately its true there are a lot of fangirls who write this stuff for the reasons you listed but not all of us are like that. I find it unfortunate that Danny had to stumble upon our more seedy group of fic writers

I was like this at one point, but I eventually gave up because every time I tried to look for decent, canon-oblidging fanfiction, I just ran into Mary Sues, smut (and all the creepy subcategories it has), out of character stories, and just plain terribly written fanfics.

Well then again, if he didn't we wouldn't have this little entertaining anecdote.

That and I wouldn't know what fubble meant.
