Thread: American convoy in 1939!? | Forums

It was my first convoy, and it was getting close to home and finding it was a female dog. Anyways, it was for some laughable reason only escorted by 1 destroyer, so i popped him

I then surfaced expecting to be able to throw carnage out left and right using the deck gun, torps and hell event the flak gun on the little one. But no... I was in a storm which made it too dangerous to use the deck gun. (Personally IRL if I were the captain, i dont care if there is a hurricane that deck gun is gunna be manned.)

So instead i just popped all the british T3 stuff I could find.

Albeit an awesomely historically accurate simulator, they missed a few things. I dont remember the americans shipping sherman/stuart tanks across the atlantic in 1939.

Either way it was fun, deck gun thing kinda bothered me though. But it was my first convoy and i did sink 8 other random ships that patrol.

The American troops didnt fight untill after Pearl Harbour. But i think they did send tanks & ships for us to use before their troops were involved very late on. As to what they sent, i couldnt say.

DOn't think of it as a "stuart" just think of it as a tank.

For all its worth, I think its amazing they model full cargo ships and empty cargo ships with realistic depictions.

I agree, its a very nice touch to show such detail. I only saw this detail yestarday in my first MP game. in SP, all i see are small merchants, or small cargo vessels.

It was also nice of JG1 to come all the way from Poland to help you!

These historical inaccuracies are irritating, but will maybe be ironed out by later Patches?

Nice screenies, anyway - & you're getting results. Watch out for the 50 Lend/Lease destroyers that the USA did provide to Britain before Pearl!
