Thread: Newbie questions | Forums

    Hi,

I joined project on February 16, so I have some questions

    1) How to change hero classes? On the first levelup I choosed FIGHTER and it seems that I am doomed to develop all fighter characteritics up to its maximum before I will be able to pick up next class. Is it so? If not, how to change class?
    2) Does anybody know what does it mean IN NUMBERS - ARMY_ATTACK_POWER_INCREASE level 2 ?
    3) I also wonder what are advantages of following classes: ARCHITECT, LEADER, BARBARIAN?
(KNIGHT - bonus to Defense?) (LANDLORD - bonus to mines production?) (MERCHANT - better prices on market?) (BUILDER - possibilty to build some higher level region buildings?)

    Hi there!

[1] In the beginning you have to choose a class for your starting hero that you'll never be able to change. For example, Pit Warrior is a good starting hero, gives +2 to both attack and defense (0 to magic) per level and at about level 20 the progress slows down. Other classes act differently, also magic aligned ones. +1 attack point increases your army power by 0.5% - troops under a hero with +40 attack are 20% stronger. However note that the battle calculator takes in account only the basic troop power so at higher levels you'll have to do some maths yourself in order to achieve perfect battle results. Actually that's what we did during the prototype test all the time, was fun.

After you've raised your level, you get a skill point. You can use it for either a new class or spend it on a skill within an existing class. For example, you have a Ranger class and in order to increase scouting level, you'll spend 1 skill point to reach level 1, 2 skill points for level 2 and 3 skill points for level 3, six in total.

[2] Your army unit attack power will increase by something like 3%.

[3] Architect allows you to build buildings faster (up to 30%), gives a bombarding bonus and can either increase your town defense or lower the town defense the hero will attack. I'm not sure about Leader, I just know it allows you to recruit 7th tier units. Barbarian - better pillaging. Knight - defense I guess. Landlord - hiring new heroes at higher level and access to rumors IIRC. Merchant - better selling and buying resources. Builder - better income from all mines. Certain classes allow to do certain things - like hiring 7th tier units or ballistas, building certain regional buildings and stuff. All skill bonuses are active if the hero is present in the town.

As I've said already before, a factsheet with all this stuff would be very handy.

I have built Blacksmith but still unable to buy Ballista (it is grayed out). What is wrong? Must I have some special hero for that?

I think you must have an Architect to recruit balistas.

Balistas are used exclusively for bombarding enemy towns. You cant use them against NPCs / in army to army fights.

I can transfer resources between my towns (via Marketplace), but can I transfer ARMIES between my towns?

AFAIK, you need a hero to do that, just like in any Heroes game, except H4.

FYI, hero without an army moves twice faster, while having ballistas in the army the movement speed is twice slower.

EDIT: Hmmm, it seems something has been changed - the hero movement speed doesn't change with or without troops.

Thank you. But how to send heroes from one town to another? I don't see any commands for that.
