Just for the record: Saving Private Ryan doesn't count because he's only a minor role in the movie, so he doesn't get the opportunity to make it suck.
There's also another movie with Vin Diesel in it for like 10 min of the whole movie before he was famous and HE HAS HAIR!!! Forgot the name of it though.
I'll amend my statement to say any movie he stars in is destined to failure because of his utter lack of talent.

The bullet wound death scene in Saving Private Ryan was the best acting I've ever seen Diesel do. It was quite good. He was a good anti-hero in Pitch Black, but that didn't require acting, it required being a badass. Which he pulled off well, but Twohy is ringing this sponge out too much if he thinks he can turn an old, low-budget ($10M) horror movie (Pitch Black) into a mega-money ($60-80M) action movie (Chronicles of Rid****), and then make a sequel or two out of that. I enjoyed playing the prequel Rid**** game then I did watching the sequel Rid**** movie. A couple hundred too many cliches in that movie for my likeing.

i thought pitch black and rid**** sucked @$$. the rock is a way better actor than vin diesel. who ever said keifer sutherland though is on to something. he eclipses my vote for bruce willis. now my votes are as follows;
1- viggo mortenson
2- clive owen
3- keifer sutherland
4- bruce willis
vin diesel is the last person in the world i'd want as sam fisher, i'd prefer tom green to vin diesel at this point.

1. Keifer Sutherland
2. Clive Owen
3. Bruce Willis

Doesn't Mark Walberg play the lead role in planet of the apes?? I enjoyed that movie, but I think the actor does not resemble Sam Fisher. Kiefer Sutherland is great in 24, but doesn't look like Sam Fisher either.
Bruce Willis could do the job though.

That's a fine list of actors, but you can't expect A-list stars to accept minor roles like this, unless Shetland would play more of a major role in the movie.
For Lambert, my pick goes to James Earl Jones.
