Kameraden,

If I use the pop-up interface to start my game it works fine.

BUT - If I use the program shortcut (with updated path) my system has the most unhealthy sounding crunching lockup, you have ever heard.

This happens when "Starforce" is checking the Disk.

Sounds like an operating system software issue. YOu should test your system. Its a good idea to benchtest your system. Use the free software provided from this link---

This is a StarForce IDE hardware polling issue. It does not happen with the other 35 games I'm running.

Only when StarForce is checking the Disk after using the Program Shortcut.

Ubisoft has alot to answer for all these problems they have created with StarForce.

What's a Benchmark going to tell me? I already know how fast my system runs.

Mission Editor does not have a link from the DVD start menu.

It does the same thing as the game link, horrible lockup when starting from the exe file for either program.

This is total BS having to email a third party company. Ubisoft, I like the game but this BS copy protection has to go.

Is this happening to anyone else?
