Thread: [Spoiler] Haven - I'm pretty fustrated with this game. | Forums

I've gotten 4 out of the 5 totem poles in Haven and the last one is just about the last straw.

My objective is to scare the mangree monkeys off the totem so I can see the symbol. The problem is, apparently I have to spin wheels to make a correct sound pattern that will scare the monkeys away, but I have to spin them in the correct order for the correct amount of secs. That is completely ******ed! Especially when you have a crossbow sitting next to your side.

But here is what REALLY bothers me. The limited interactivity in this game. For example - to reach the monkeys blocking the totem, I must move two brush (long grass) out of my way to walk up to the tower. If you're going to make this brush the only interactive grass then you should have a better indication you can move the brush, or make all the grass interactive. I got lucky when I moved my mouse over the grass and for about 0.2 secs I noticed my mouse was about to change animation icons so I went back over the brush. Basically I'll have to go back and click on every brush to see if I miss something. And that's just silly.

Why not have a diamond the size of a grain of sand and hide it on the beach?

Another situation is like the bamboo gate you have to figure out the gatelock code. I'm not Special Forces or anything. But I can get through a bamboo gate without a key. Espeically if I know there is a hatchet stuck in a tree down the path towards the beach.

Im obviously not out of Haven yet, but there better be a good **** reason why I'm looking at all these totem poles. I hope its not to enter some crazy code that will lower a bridge over a pond I can swim 20 feet to cross (in reality). Or something silly like that....

well, yeah, that would be what makes this a GAME!!!

Something seems in the air tonight. Why are all you people putting yourselves through misery if you're not enjoying playing this game? It's supposed to be fun, so if all you feel like is complaining about it, then don't play it!

I don't mean that to be harsh... just realistic!!

dude, relax... My point is, if they're going to make a game look as realistic as this one, they should at least go all the way and make the logic realistic as well. I'm not hating on the whole thing, just some of the logic in my example above are really fustrating. Also, telling us not to play the game because we're complaining doesn't help the developers come up with better ideas when Myth 5 is being developed.

Remember we're not talking about "us" in this game so even though the puzzles are logical, they may not be logical to us. Heck, if I was stuck in an age for 20 years I wouldn't know which way was up.

Oh, PS, the game is called MYST
