There I was Friday, playing online having a great time, everything working great. I go away for the weekend and come back to a won't even post rig. No storms rolled through, no indication of power failure or surges (and the thing was off anyway). Nada but the following beep code, 1 long 3 short. I looked it up on my old rig and it seems that I have a "conventional/extended memory failure". (I tried each of the sticks singly with no joy) My rig is an asus a8n32-sli, 1gig(2x512) of patriot, AMD3200+ and geforce7600gt. Folks, do I have the code right? And what could have caused this? And lastly, (ot) did I read it right that AMD is axing all of it's 1mb L2 dual cores (execpt the FX60) including the 939 X24800+ (which I was saving to buy)?
Heck, all this AND intel raises the bar! I need beer...
