I am at the first slate symbol in Laki'ahn (three wave symbol) and I am drawing it on the slate and its not doing anything....please help...

I've had this problem as well, don't get discouraged. I just had to keep trying variations on the symbols until I got one close enough to be recognized. Sometimes the curve or angle of a line wasn't just right. So I had to try again. Shoot, I had to redraw that 3 wave symbol about 20 times tonight before I got it right, and this'll be the third time I've played since I got it.
